It’s heartbreaking to see the depth of Dima’s heart - his capacity for deep compassion, love, and joy - and then the absolutely gut-wrenching pendulum swing into the the ripping pain of betrayal, heartache and enduring feelings of neglect that haunted him relentlessly. I understand why people are so upset with Tanya, and it was so painful and upsetting to watch this. However, I think we need to separate our feelings of betrayal by Tanya’s actions here, and her being guilty or associated with his death. We can’t be judge and jury with literally zero proof of guilt on her part. We can, however, be pretty disgusted with her behaviour towards him here. I can’t imagine hurting someone’s heart like that. She must either be way far gone into her addictions, or have a n extreme mental disorder that presents itself in symptoms of “the dark triad”.

I appreciate your transparency even when life isn’t ideal. 20 yrs of social work was worth it for the success stories. Outcomes like this are very disheartening but I found the good outweighs the bad. Overtime. My first drug alcohol treatment client was murdered by her husband. It was shocking and left me second guessing myself. Many more beautiful experiences helping people happened after her death. She had started to heal physically and mentally before her death. Her smile came back and the color of her skin was glowing before her death- I believe she would not have wanted me to stop helping others feel alive and happy again just because her case went completely sideways. I was in the process of helping her husband get into treatment too. He said he was really motivated- then he shot her dead. Anyway, like with Tanya the feeling of betrayal/ anger can been very real when we’ve given empathy, concern, help, trust, then one is killed. Allow ourselves time to process and be angry if needed then ease off the bitterness and continue helping others in need. The successful ones to come are part of everyone’s healing and feel really damn good.

Well, I had been feeling badly for Tanya after Dima passed but this video has made that thought go away. I had no clue she treated him so poorly after the wed. Extremely sad that she felt the need to go back to the bottle and seek refuge with this man upsetting Dima so badly.
