Beau heads to the hunting area to do some scouting before their first hunt day. After finding around a dozen bulls and 60+ cow elk he heads back to pick up Kirstin, his wife, and head to camp. I loved that you took the time to talk about the possible problems when finding a huge herd. With a new hunter you did an excellent job explaining how important it is to wait and shoot on the outside of a herd. It is hard to be patient when there are a ton of elk. And even harder when there is a really nice bull in the herd. Thanks for taking the time to explain what might happen and how to work through it. Excellent teaching moment. Kudos!!!

It's good to see the Baty's hunting together as they scout the countryside for elk. Is that a prototype hiking pole/stick Kirstin was using as she gingerly negotiated the hike up and down the hillside with her weak knee? Ha! 🙂 One possible explanation for her getting the restful nights sleep might be due to the spacious and soon to be released Wilderness Llama wall tents!? Can't wait!👍
