I had the exact same issue 3 months ago two of the three bolts snapped on the drive shaft for me. I get violent shakes over 30 miles an hour. Luckily the shop put new bolts in and it's fixed the issue for now

@@christenn32 Those rear Dive-shaft bolts are are Torque to yield bolts (they have TTY stamped on the heads), and can only be used once. Someone likely reused them.

Those rear Dive-shaft bolts are are Torque to yield bolts (they have TTY stamped on the heads), and can only be used once. This is because they are designed to literally stretch in order to provide better locking. Once they have been used (stretched once), reinstalling them to factory torque spec will stretch them beyond the designed limit and cause them to fail. My guess is whoever did your clutch (a job that requires driver shaft removal) simply reused these bolts. Also, be weary, now that you have fixed that, watch your axles (half-shafts). The stock ones on the 5th gen Camaros are notoriously weak; I actually snapped one in half after a clutch job.

Thank you so much for the comment man. Yeah that most likely was the case. I'm looking at some one piece drive shafts to avoid the center support bearing being an issue at a later point in time, so hopefully those old drive shaft bolts will come out. Any suggestions for upgrading axles? I'm not really going to be making significant power anytime soon.

@@gvaspirated I'm not really aware of any issues with the Camaro Driveshafts; they are fairly resilient (which I can vouch for as I have tracked mine), but yes a one piece is usually stronger. Also, don't fret too much: Technically GM suggests replacing all driveshaft bolts (which I ultimately did) but only the rear has the 3 TTY bolts. As for the axles, there aren't too many options out there... it's basically GForce Engineering or Driveshaft shop. Forums get heated on which is better, but realistically, they both seem to be fine products. I went with the GForce, which comes in either Renegade or Outlaw variants for $1800, and $2200, respectively, which is unfortunately higher than what I paid (Inflation sucks). GForce no longer prints horsepower figures, as you can break anything if you shock it violently enough, but the Renegade and Outlaw axles use to bill at a max of 1000hp and 1500hp, respectively. I went with the Renegade as I do not plan on pushing the car too much, but the Outlaw's are also lighter as they use I higher grade billet material. The install isn't to bad, but be aware, these axles are a bit larger, and therefore re-bolting up your hubs will be a tighter job. Took me a few hours if memory serves.

I recently bought a 2018 Camaro ss with only 2800 miles on it and when I drove it home same day it was fine but the next day it started vibrating when I’d accelerate on the gas, I thought it was nothing but it’s still vibrates. I could be cruising at 45 mph no gas and as soon as I start to give it some gas it’ll vibrate and this happens like 60% of time that I drive it now. I took it to the dealership and they drove it themselves and they didn’t find what the cause of the problem was and they said it was probably flat spots on the tires and that it was normal and it would probably go away after I drive it for a while but it’s been over 1000 miles already and it still vibrates every so often. Idk what it could be? Does it need new tires or is it a transmission problem??

Whatever it is it isn’t due to tires, l have a 2017 rs with the same exact issue and I too thought maybe is was the tires, got new set and the problem was still there. I’m guessing maybe it’s gears, transmission, struts related, car only has 25k on it
