I really like PlateUp but I think it's a shame that the long term gameplay almost exclusively focuses around cutting out all variations in cooking and just having a single thing on the menu. Would be nice to see some items to make it more viable to have a big menu.

You couldve taken the thin steak at the end they will still order rare
@undine1202 жыл бұрын
Did the math on another comment. They'll order them slightly less often (91.65% chance of basic rare steak per customer once you add thin steaks versus 93.33% with only basic steaks), but with terminal, and especially with menus/supplies as a backup, 15% less wins out, especially when up against something like morning rush.

Your 94% estimate was pretty darn accurate: 1 - (2/3 * 3/4^8) = 93.33% chance of a rare steak. 1 - (base chance of a non-rare steak * individual chance to not change per display board ^ number of display boards) = 1 - (chance that the non-rare steak hasn't changed) = rare steak odds.
@MGSLurmey2 жыл бұрын
Does that mean their odds of getting rare steaks actually goes *up* when adding more main dishes to the selection pool? 1-(((3/4)*(3/4))^8) = 0.9899 or 98.99%? 1-(((3 dishes not rare steak out of total 4 dishes)*(constant chance to not change per board))^(number of boards)?
@undine1202 жыл бұрын
@@MGSLurmey Ah, shoot, I see the error in the way I presented it now. It'd be: 1/3 + 2/3 * (1 - 3/4^8) . That spits out the same 93.33% chance, but written out it's (base chance of rare steak) + ((base chance of something else) * (1 - individual chance to not change per display board ^ number of display boards). If we assume the base odds are 1/6 when you add thin steak (as it also has 3 doneness levels, and presumably there's no default preference), then 1/6 + 5/6 * (1 - 3/4^8) would be the odds, which is only knocking the rate down to 91.65%. I think the key here would be keeping the specials menu and supplies handy as well, as you can reset a second (or more) times with those, I believe. If you assume the case that all tables are 4-tops, the odds of no non-rare in a thin-steak included situation with 8 display stands is 70.58% with no specials usage (for comparison, 75.86% for no thins possible). That boosts to 91.34% after a terminal use (for comparison again, 94.17% for no-thins). So with 40 tables of 4, you're looking at 4ish (versus 2-ish) tables that include one non-rare steak when you have thin steaks - and that's before adding back in the consumable menus, of which you have 12 with the base and supplies. That should be generally enough to fix those problems, and if not, well, hopefully cooking the 1-2 extra steaks won't be so bad. But since it reduces customer count by 15% to add the different steak, the extra 2 finnicky tables a day that need paper menus, and the handful of extra uses of the terminal is going to be more than balanced out by 15% less customers that never appear. tldr; - in the situation where you have 8 display stands, extra main course options will be a net benefit if you have a terminal, and should be a breeze with the backup menus and supplies.

I feel like it'd be possible to automate all 3 types of steak using that danger hob. Just have grabbers for each of the 3 types in the 3 out directions, pulling towards 3 storages. Then all you need is a kind of 'overflow' for the well-done ones (like the bin setup you have).

You could use prep stations to hold garbage steaks you don’t want, but I don’t think you would want it frozen as that would just fill up the bin at the start of the round. Really you would just need an expanded bin as a buffer that went into a compactor bin
@daniwalmsley6112 жыл бұрын
@@FiestaBroad in their setup all excess steaks are going in the bin so wether the frozen preps are full doesnt matter. That's a starter bin, it only holds 2 items and is bad. They were hoping to get a compactor bin as the fact it auto empties and never having to worry about trash bags makes it ideal for cooking automation. Extended bins ended up being good enough, as they do hold 10 items each, but again compactor bins would of been ideal.
