From what I've seen online, it sounds like if you first get it mad and then play the boombox it'll work right, -but I haven't tested it myself so that could be a load of shit.- Edit: Was double checked, and this is right! Hit a slime with a shovel or a sign, wait for it to stop being angry, and then the boombox will make you invulnerable as intended. Thank you @deathpawn9 !

Oh damn that's actually a decent idea. I wish the boombox wasnt expensive, because you could give it to a lootbug and use the sound to follow them back to their stash. It'd be good gameplay as its risk vs reward since you might not get the boombox, would have to buy the boombox and have to kill the lootbug plus carry the boombox out wasting an inventory space.

They could simply be pseudo extra inventory slots, and they keep following you and each can carry an item, you just hand them something manually. But you gotta watch out for them dying to mines, turrets or eaten by dogs and giants. Most other monsters dont bother with them tbough. If you die, the loot bug bring whathever its holding to the main entrance and stays there.

What would be a good idea for the game is that you could have a reputation system with loot bugs. For example, if you give them stuff your reputation goes up and they are less likely to murder you. But if you kill, steal, and Aggro them, your reputation will go down. And if you give them enough stuff, you would be able to just go into groups of them and they would even protect you if the AI detects something is attacking you. So lootbugs wouldn’t just be an obstacle and actually add a quality of life into the game. It’s just that if you fail meeting quota, your reputation will restart completely. Also if your reputation is too low with them, they would literally send groups of lootbugs to search and kill specifically you on sight. (Reputation only works for one person, so if one person is friendly to them, everyone else is probably not)

Supposedly the hygrodere is supposed to "dance" and become mostly peaceful when the boombox is played around it. If someones holding the box and playing music, the glorb will begin to increase its speed and chase the player holding it, and if the box is on the ground playing music, the glorb will envelop it and "dance." While its dancing its supposed to be harmless but thats kinda broken rn i think
