I admire you for refusing to let a security guy put you off the trail of a good explore. He seemed a nice friendly guy too. If you go down to the woods today you’re sure of a big surprise! The Ford Focus burnout could have been joyriders or worse still a getaway car. The hour display on the tractor is how many working hours it has done in it’s life. As for the Land Rover with that apparent low mileage, what can I say? It looks like it may have been played about with though. The two gear levers are high and low ratio, as found on tractors or 4 wheel drive vehicles . Another great video..My verdict is save that Landy.

Hi STOKZE, this weeks video was really interesting and that building that you and your mate went to look at was also interesting and that security guard had a really positive attitude towards you two and then at you other location with all those spares and that fantastic looking series Land Rover was wonderful to see but however to leave it like that does kinda breaks the old ticker some what as it should be in a museum somewhere being lusted over by all those Land Rover fans, anyway I think that’s enough from me this week and I will look forward to seeing your new video next week and until then TaRa for a bit.

Interesting video, the Landrover is a definite restoration job, the paintwork wouldn'thave been that good when it was new!!. I don't know what series it is but it would be early an 60s manufacturing date. Bloody disgrace that some muppets have damaged it. The burnt out focus looks like it was a jazzy one, sporty version if some sort?The JCB is old too, strange they painted it Red.

That Land Rover is a classic "bitsa". Probably just a series 3 with 2A front end and a historical log book from something that has long since disappeared. The bulkhead is Series 3. The chassis is incorrect for a short wheel base - looks like it's been knocked up using cut down long wheelbase components - the rear spring hangers are LWB items and the axle is possibly a Salisbury item. On a 88" SWB chassis, the springs would fit directly below the chassis rails, not to the side, like they would on the 109" LWB. You can also see the weld seam running the length of the chassis rail in the centre of the rail indicating it is a Series 3 chassis, another giveaway. Sadly, someone has probably paid an awful lot of money for what, in reality, is a "Frankenstein's Monster" of a vehicle. If VOSA had stopped and checked this vehicle on the road, it would be crushed !

Its ex army, has the data plate on the side of the seat box when he opened the drivers door. Would have been in the army till late 70s, auctioned then lost its mil plates and gained a dvla reg no in 1980

That LR is incredible. I'm not that well up on Landies but it looks like a Series IIA. IMO its been rebuilt at some stage hence the seats and the painted chassis, there is no way a 1964 LR would be in such good condition. The CD stereo with blue cone speakers also points toward a life off the farm. It's been parked up with some care on a ground sheet to stop it decaying underneath. Possibly the owner intended to finish it or get it going again at some stage and got too old or died? The MOT ran out in Nov 2006 and it passed the without any advisories. A case of estate in probate?

The land rover was last MOT'D in 2006, and the mileage on that MOT was 4373, so the mileage what you saw is correct, that's a very low mileage series 2.

I think you stumbled across a chop shop there. The Landrover isn’t original, it’s a mish mash of different series parts, probably an older registration on a newer chassis, the paint is definetly not factory. There are some good parts there, spotted Fiesta RS bumper and the Sierra doors would fetch strong money. Some of the Tractors are hardly used, it looks like an insurance claim goldmine!

I wonder if that's my stolen Focus Zetec it got stolen in 2010 from my driveway and there was a V5 logbook issued in August 2019 for the Landrover but it's dine and mot exempt according to the vehicle check

Without a good look it’s hard to say but that old landy isn’t what it looks like! Lots of old landys lost the original registration when the tax exempt came in and owners would simply change the plates over. So much on this just doesn’t look right from the series 3 dash and others things…It just could be it’s had a bulkhead change at some point.. normally people who swap the plates change things in order to make it look like a series 2a. Front wings, radiator panel ,cills and door hinges! The most interesting thing is it’s a SWB with a Salisbury rear axle which was only available as standard for the LWB S3 land rovers! You can tell that by the spring hangers. It also looks like the chassis is a very late series 3 as it’s been welded in two halves which is the way Land Rover started to make them from the early 80s right up until they finished the defenders. It’s a nice truck but in my opinion I would say it’s a mix of all sorts and anyone who knows what they are looking at wouldn’t think this is anything special as it’s a bit of a bastard.. excuse the phrase!
