1 disturbing/depressing element they leave out of this story is that bears living in the wild have a lifespan of only around 30 years, so by chosing to remain a bear Kenai will died a few decades before his brother Denahi tells the story as we saw at the beginning of the movie.

The longest recorded life span 39 to 35 years so it's not impossible he lived to 40 or more since he has a human thought process meaning he is less likely to eat bad things and get killed by nature as easy. So not too depressing as living to at least 40 isn't that bad especially given the time period.
@beenile
@beenile 11 ай бұрын
@@Suno-ta-seiactually if you lived past childhood (as in growing to be an adult) the possibility of living to be elderly age was extremely high. The reason life expectancy back then are seen as low is bc of child mortality screwing the metrics. Obv other things kill you but if we’re to only consider age it’s not unlikely he wouldn’t live longer than 40 (which we see anyway in the intro)

Bears can smell 7 times better than a bloodhound. 2,100 times better than us. Insane jaw strength at about 1100psi (1200 if it’s a polar bear). Stronger and faster than humans. Their eyesight is better for closer things, but is still excellent. It’s understandable to fear them, but they mostly stay to themselves. Keep your food safe, especially your garbage, in bear areas (or beareas)

Rotten tomatoes CRITIC score is 37%. Audience score is 65%, makes much more sense. I’m not a movie critic, so why would I want to know what critics think? I’m an audience member.
