The longest recorded life span 39 to 35 years so it's not impossible he lived to 40 or more since he has a human thought process meaning he is less likely to eat bad things and get killed by nature as easy. So not too depressing as living to at least 40 isn't that bad especially given the time period.

@@Suno-ta-seiactually if you lived past childhood (as in growing to be an adult) the possibility of living to be elderly age was extremely high. The reason life expectancy back then are seen as low is bc of child mortality screwing the metrics. Obv other things kill you but if we’re to only consider age it’s not unlikely he wouldn’t live longer than 40 (which we see anyway in the intro)

Brother bear is an underrated classic. I watched it all the time as a kid. You guys have to find a DVD to watch the Rutt and Tuke commentary, it'll put you guys to shame. Phil Collins song in this are better than Tarzan, and the story is very moving. Also the drawn landscapes are incredible

I learned from my dad that the moose are based off two brothers from a show from the 70's called Strange Brew and it was basically a Canadian Saturday night live. And they also brought the guys back from retirement for this movie.

Also, I wish I could talk to y’all about bears, they do sometimes kill and *VERY RARELY* eat people, yes, but they actually aren’t that awful. But I understand your fear of them entirely!

Bears can smell 7 times better than a bloodhound. 2,100 times better than us. Insane jaw strength at about 1100psi (1200 if it’s a polar bear). Stronger and faster than humans. Their eyesight is better for closer things, but is still excellent. It’s understandable to fear them, but they mostly stay to themselves. Keep your food safe, especially your garbage, in bear areas (or beareas)

Love this movie when I was younger and still do now, such a underated gem of a Disney movie. I still have the bootleg disc that my dad gave to me and my sister when he downloaded this movie from the internet all those many years ago. On a side note I remember hearing the song on my way or that the little bear sings and hearing it at a toy store I once worked at and it gave me so much joy on that day.

Literally one of my all time favorite movies. As a Native American and apart of the Bear clan in my tribe, glad Alan came around in the end lol. This commentary was absolutely hilarious! I loved getting to watch you guys do this one live, it’s always really fun and entertaining to get to see you guys do the commentaries like that. This commentary seriously just had me laughing nonstop throughout the entire video. All the jokes and running gags you guys had throughout this one were just so hilarious to me. I felt like even after every time you brought some of them back, that joke was still able to be really funny. This commentary really felt like it had some top tier comedy all throughout it, this one was just all around super funny. And it’s always really great to see you guys watching a movie you actually end up enjoying. Anyway, for one of your next commentaries I think you guys should do Kung Fu Panda.

The amount of times I spat my drink out during this commentary is some kind of record. Joker references got me in a chokehold. Alan's bear character arc was the icing on the cake. One of my fave commentaries boys! I love this movie so much I used to dance on a chair to the Spirit songs as a kid. Very nostalgic and the messages are so very beautiful.

I mean I love Hippos and they have a higher confirmed kill ratio then Sharks and Crocs/Gators. Just because it's a strong predator doesn't mean I can't like it. I've been more scared of a groundhog - you know groundhogs can climb and are stupid fast??
