Did you move from England? I reckon NZ has some of the best trails in the world, but scotland has way more trails (assuming you include natural and not just man made). Now I ride less DH and more other stuff (like trails on my Honzo Gravel bike) I miss the ability to go anywhere in scotland and find a trail within riding distance. ....... I don't miss it enough to move back though!

@@W1DO Yes moved from Devon, and looking back on my time in the UK, I should've travelled North more. NZ actually got me back into MTBing (I used to ride DH as a kid), and now I live and breath biking. I think for me it's the bike parks that do it, since I love riding loop trails and mild DH/flow stuff. Coppermine up in Nelson is one of my favourite day rides, and multi day either Paparoa or Old Ghost, love those kind of rides.

@@W1DO You're totally right about not wanting to move back anyway!! Also I think the wilderness is more accessible here, maybe Scotland would be closer though, but with probably worse weather.

@@mattjohnson7033 I'm from Scotland, I can confirm the weather is definitely way worse there than in NZ :) the midges are also worse than sandflys I reckon. Spent a bit of time riding in england too, it feels way more restricted than Scotland and trail access seems a bit worse than NZ.. PS NZ has a little bit of a problem developing because of limited trail access. The problem is everywhere legal is getting busy. Not a problem Scotland has because almost every trail and track in the country is rideable

Yes! No idea why there isn’t one probably cycling new Zealand or the venues don’t wanna pay, dose seem like the World Cup circuit is just Europe and occasionally USA, Queenstown wold be soo good probably the only place that could realistically host one in nz

NZ could host 2 World cups 1 year and 0 the next (2,0,2,0..etc). Rotorua then Queenstown. Would make the travel much easier and if it was the start of the season 20% of the racers would be wintering in NZ already. If linked to 2x EWS and an XC World cup round and crankworks it would be absolutely EPIC (like the best MTB festival ever to exist) Could slide the NZ enduro and pheniox enduro in between too.. That's what I would work towards if I was paid to make MTB in NZ awesome... would actually be pretty achievable
