Pontianak is a city that is very thick with Dayak, Malay and Chinese culture. In fact, almost all provinces in Kalimantan have equator monuments, but the biggest and most popular is in Pontianak. If the weather is clear, usually near the equator monument there is a tour around the Kapuas River by boat to see the sunset. The noodle food you eat is Pontianak kwetiau and the snacks you eat are choipan and chai kue, one of the typical Pontianak culinary delights.
