i know this was 2 years ago, but i disagree with this heavily! there’s so many “relationship things” across all social media platforms and I’m not talking about toxic non committed relationships. Actually, since I was young and first started using FB I always saw “cute relationship things” and “couple goals” of partners doing cute things for each other that got millions and millions of views/likes. and of course all of the “cute couples/relationships” on Tumblr and these both represented married, or at least committed happy couples. & I’m American lol. Also I grew up on the popularity of Rom-Coms. and if you try to argue and say “well now it’s different” (since all i’m referring to is 2000-2015) then I would still be inclined to disagree as I still see those things across all socials and TikTok there’s MILLIONS of views for “couple challenges”, “ask your boyfriend”, and just people showing off for their partner making them baskets, surprising them, proposing, weddings, etc. I promise you. It is not rare and actually maybe highlighted too much since a lot of people might see all the “Happy Couple” things constantly and never see any of the bad stuff most the time which makes a false ideology that all relationships are perfect. Plus “Happy Family” Vloggers that exploit their kids, but that’s another thing lol.
