I like the heavier realistic weight on the ragdoll physics when you bail. There’s more reliance on animations because when you bailed in Skate 3 the ragdolls looked kinda funky.

Skate 2 had superior bailing mechanics for sure. Only problem is the choppy hall of meat UI would slow down the frame rate way too much. If you play it on free skate you get such clean bailing physics without the choppiness.

What I meant was this video looks cool and all, but some stuff they say to be working on can be dropped before release because of deadlines, budget or whatever, maybe some functions aren't polished enough. Happens pretty often so I grew cautious. There are DLCs and patches afterwards that's true, but I'll believe what I see once the game is out

@@Squant There is no flaw in my logic as I actually know how it works. Their publisher expects a certain threshold of return based on the amount of investment made. They are required by a legally binding contract to ensure this to the best of their ability. With the amount of money that has gone into this game the only way to ensure this cost/return ratio is high enough those are the two options. Sorry if that bothers anyone but that's the reality.

I remember working on the big black challenge for three days on the first skate , and once i got it i could do the trick when i wanted to , im hoping the new game makes some of these challenges so technical that you have to be good to land them . At least on a couple that only the best of the best would even attempt.

i cant wait until they make the city look more realistic as long as the clothes and stuff. One thing about skate three that worked the most was the fact that the city looked pretty realistic and the scars and bruises you got from not landing a trick. Skate 3 will forever be timeless as a skate game but this looks super promising. p.s. as a skater. them including new trick selections that were previously unavailable to do correctly is so fucking cool.

I have always loved the Skate series, I just hope out of everything for the character’s movements that they make it as realistic as Skater XL or better because once I played Skater XL, it felt WAY more natural. I know this is still in the works but as of right now, I don’t like how the character stomps down on the board immediately. I hope they do make this way more fluid because otherwise it will kind of feel like the board sticks to you as a magnet right before you land like Tony Hawk games. I’m not talking about anything else for the game because so far I really do love what I see. I’m only talking about the character’s movement for landing a trick and to some it may be small but if you see the difference with another game, then it’s hard NOT to care about this as it is an essential part of being a skateboarder in real life for how clean we land a trick. I also hope winding up a spin looks realistic too. I miss the Skate games for sure, I just hope on this one, they have more realism than Skater XL. Honestly for realism, my favorite one out of the series is the first game hands down

To be honest im still not impressed, and still not confident. I know its still pre pre alpha and a lot can change.. but for now it looks like Riders Republic.. too stiff, especially in the spinning mechanics. Still, this is still in the works and i’ll happily wait for this amazing franchise
