I paid double the price for a museum in Vietnam than my local gf, but 100k dong is still less than 5€ while I make 2000€+ each month. Meanwhile the average Vietnamese yearly income is 5000€. Thats why I am supportive of it, because they cant afford the same as I can.

It's not mean that it is one of the least visited countries on the continent. "Do your research" doesn't work when the person selling you something refuses to honor the posted price and then pockets your money. Paraguay is nice and we enjoyed our time there but the fact is most tourists skip it.

Hi guys, as a paraguayan myself I am unaware of there existing tax rates specifically aimed at tourists stablished by law. Anyone can correct me on this but Paraguay has one of the lowest Fiscal pressures in the entirety of South America, those most taxed nationally are the middle and lower classes and even we don’t pay that much in average compared to neighboring countries like Brazil and Argentina. Don’t get me wrong, I still think you should’ve been taxed but done so transparently and properly. Individual people barely get taxed and less so do companies. Unless this is a local government thing (Itapúa) then I’m afraid you were likely scammed Hope you can find more welcoming cultural experiences on other parts of the country, there is a ton of culture to explore, it just goes unsupported by our government sadly

For me you guys have enough reason to think that is an scam. *This is in Spanish, if you wanna translate go ahead* Y para los que quieran decirme una buena razón con peso, información y argumentos estoy aquí. Llevo años en un país que se está autodestruyendo y elevar los precios para los turistas solo ha demostrado hacer que el interés del país baje para estos mismos. Además, si ya de por si Paraguay está en unas condiciones terribles (al igual que la gran mayoría de países latinos incluyendo al mío) esto no solo hace que la situación empeore si no que agiliza el estancamiento que ya se viene gestando. Ahora, hablando del dinero que gastan y el precio de los tickets, si bien es un hecho que al pagar en dólares se obtiene una ventaja mayor que al pagar en guaraníes, no significa que estos turistas no tengan el derecho de quejarse por tener un precio más alto que el de los demás. Ósea por favor, es lo más normal del mundo si nosotros al estar en el mercado vemos que a alguien le dan un precio más barato que al que nos están dando a nosotros claramente nos vamos a enojar. Y aunque puede ser que puedan conseguir dinero más fácil que nosotros (que eso NO se puede confirmar) sería estúpido, envidioso y en general mal decir que se lo merecen. Todos aqui sabemos perfectamente lo que cuesta el dinero, esto se consigue trabajando y gastarlo duele. Los extranjeros no son están afuera de esta regla. Miren si queremos cambiar algo de nuestro países DEBEMOS ver los errores y problemas que tienen estos mismos, hacer caso omiso e insultar a las personas que critican constructivamente ya sean turistas o no, solo va hacer que nunca salgamos del hoyo en el que estamos.
