WE GOT STUCK IN ROTTEN CORN!

Need any Christmas ideas for anyone? I have a few at the start of the video.
Now that we are completely done with harvest, it is important to clean up the bin site before bad weather hits. The work starts with Dad fixing a cord connection for the augers. While Dad was finishing that, I found a motor to go on our 32,000 bushel bin unload. Cooper and I installed the motor, put new belts on it, and then cleaned a wagon out that had rotten corn in it. After that we cleaned the boots out on the leg, and then started cleaning out our front pit in our unloading system. While we were cleaning out the pit, I accidentally got the skid loader stuck in rotten corn. We brought the backhoe around to push out the skid loader. Daddy Cornstar wraps up the day with a little life advice.
The next day, corn hauling season started. We have 300,000 bushels of corn to haul in over the winter months and so we decided to start unloading the big machine shed first. I explain the process we go through to unload the big machine shed, and then go to set up an auger to our bean bin. I had to bring the backhoe to the bean bin to dig out dirt to allow an auger to fit under the unload. The ground was frozen so this proved to be a difficult task. The video ends with Daddy Cornstar giving safety advice.

So right, Daddy Cornstar! My grandmother raised me & my older sister all by herself because my birth mother-her daughter-died unexpectedly before I was 2 months old. Grandma & grandpa were going to raise me & my older sister, but then he died unexpectedly four months later!! Grandpa was only 56 & my birth mother, only 27!! We just never know how much time we have with our loved ones. My grandma passed away 17 years ago & I still miss her every day. Getting to watch your kind, loving family is a comfort to me. I can relate to where your dad is coming from. Although I'm closer to Cole's age, you can't guess when something bad might happen. My dad passed away this time last year. I really regret not seeing him for several days because I was working on the family farm too much. The farm that's hardly their anymore because of no Will or Trust and other issues.

Cole when the trucking company we use to haul our wheat to town, stocks an auger into a pile. They have a split piece of pipe or auger tubing that they tarp strap it to the intake end to protect the auger from dents from a skid steer. Many years ago Monte had someone tap his auger hard enough with a loader tractor to bend it where it was rubbing hard. Just a hint that may save you some trouble. Thank you for the videos and the learning experience. I grew up on a dry land wheat and beef farm & ranch in north east Montana.

Howdy from Delaware. I've got to share something. I'm 57 and so is my boyfriend. He is a vegetable farmer. Sweet corn, cabbage, and green beans. Very little field corn and some soybeans. He gets all butt hurt every time he sees me watching your videos!! He refers to you as Corny Cornpicker! I know he makes a face every time he hears: Hi! Who is cooler than Daddy Cornstar? There is none. Cole, I don't know if you realized, but you gave away the secret of being a Cornstar. You spend the majority of the winter basking in the corn. Absolutely right on the parents. 3 years ago my dad died unexpectedly of a heart attack, he was 50, an athlete and in good health. No one ever expects it to happen to them. You never know if there will be a tomorrow with your parents guys - don't waste the time you have with them.

I'm a retired carpenter who works on a harvest crew occasionally and if any of Us would spill 5he amount of grain that You waste We would be out of a job. The good Lord has given You the ability to reap a decent harvest off His land the least You could do is take care of it. Oh, by the way He farms 3 times as much ground!
