Track meets should be more of an event! Beer, more interviews, a set cast of developed characters. Trusting membrane 🧠 on this one

Sell the event tickets inexpensively but make it up on the concessions. Kyle’s buddy should not have to miss events by waiting in line for a pretzel & beer. Interesting discussion. Hope we get to see more Jakob/Kerr/Naguse Matchup’s. Couldn’t think of a greater guy for this project than Merber. Much success to your new venture.

Sound Running Trackfest last summer in LA was a ton of fun. Food trucks and a beer garden adjacent to the track. More of that.

So many remaining questions. Still unsure how a MJ gig works. In a slam meet, how does it work? Morgan races 3k, 5k Ollie races 800/15 Geordie races 15/3k 🤷‍♂ Need to lean into it more. Another great podcast providing insightful insights

I believe 8/15 guys can only do those two events and 3k/5k can only do those two so George couldn’t do 15/3k but would have to decide between 8/15 and 3k/5k.

It'd be cool if there was a points system for Brand's placements in the races. It is a cool element of F1, where the constructors championship also means something. Also, Cameron Proceiviat is fast.

Would be smart to enlist HUGE Track Nerds in Shannon Sharpe & RG III to use their HUGE platforms to promote 'Grand Slam Track'! 34yr old Matthew Centrowitz has scratched from US Trials :(

IMO the 3k/5k double 2 days apart is unworkable. Would be curious what the boys think, but I can't see elite runners doing the double 4 times a year that close to championship racing.

You should've asked about gambling, if they lean into the gambling (morals aside) it could be successful, I am always wanting to bet on track and none of the current big books do it very well

This new track league is interesting. The athletes are the stars ✨, make sure to stat there. Let the athletes help make their uniforms, all the athletes wearing the same exact uniform is so boring. Are there going to be actual teams, that would make a lot of sense. A track meet like in college would be awesome, where it came down to the 4x400.

There was an interview with Michael Johnson where he explained it. But, I believe it was select top tier athletes racing for the season. A way to get like Sydney and Femke to race each other more often.

i love this league, as a distance fan i dont really want to see a very slow distance race because then it's not a good look for distance running. My favorite races are the ones that go for PBs and not kicker races. Loved this podcast.

Don’t see the appeal of grand slam track - not really any different to the Golden league, which was better than diamond league but not majorly - the finances are good but aren’t that life changing to do it if a middle or long distance runner going to take away from champs or double up each meet / or don’t perform in them as just using as training- and with no field it’s not properly event - I get not having a full programme but pole vault javelin in one shot put long jump in other etc - think it will just become a sprinters North American meet - unless Saudi buys it and 3 of meets in Saudi one in USA

MLB has figured out a loooong time ago how to make a generally slow moving boring sport exciting and fan centric. Go to a game and its non stop fan involvement. Sounds like thats what they’re attempting to bring to track. It’ll be cool if they figure it out they only issue i see is track events are short and each race is like a new/another game with different personalities for fans to get to know, feel a kinship with and fan investment. Example: fans get to know and have their favorite player(s) this translates into sale of everything from jerseys to signed baseballs. How will fans develop a relationship with athletes whose event last no more the 14 minutes? Today’s “hardcore” track fans - no problem, but how do you get the uninterested general public interest in the athletes on an involve level. I seriously hope they have success. 😊🏃‍♂️🏃‍♂️

I feel like from competing at a high level and watching guys race at this championships and running fast times (coming from a distance runners perspective) what intrigues a lot of people who are into the sport enjoy those races because they can grasp the effort and work it takes to be capable to run at the level. I feel like the marketing strategy to get people into it is educating them on what the training is like behind the scenes that’s how I feel you would get people engaged.

It great you talk about the new track league but you guys hyped it up way too much & didn’t ask Kyle the cons about this track league with no Steeplechase, 10k, & field events. It almost this league is push those track & field athletes to side & saying we don’t care about you & we don’t want you to get paid
