Kid n Play was an act. He and Play were ALWAYS intelligent. As a fellow child of West Indian parents, you better have your nose in those books and still try to be in the parks and community centers and basements. I grew up on Sedgwick Avenue Bronx NY in the 70s, so I lived the culture. We went to school and graduated, and we STILL sprayed graffiti and rode our BMX bikes and breakdanced and beatboxed with our suede Pumas, Cazals, Lee jeans and shelltoes with fat laces.

It so crazy I’m in my late 30s and didn’t really “grow up” with Kid N Play but I respected the footprint they left in the culture. It’s weird I can relate to every age group from 90s and later after 2000s I’m lost. I can’t relate to these young kids these days and they can’t relate to us and I see why.
