Put me down for the firewood shed. The bridge will be cool, and I think the drainage will be a real quality of life improvement. I'm looking forward to the Allis Chalmers completion and the bank barn water issues. Getting the front 12 acres cleared, fenced and planted for livestock was a huge project and getting that mostly completed in 2024 is a major win, imo. No more worrying about having enough grazing land for the animals.
@nicholas-qx9pw
@nicholas-qx9pw Ай бұрын
Let's see. Finishing the Allis and the bookshelves is your wintertime projects. In the early spring, build a couple of birthing stalls and try to finish the pasture work.. In the late spring, complete some of the garden renovations but leave some for next year. In the early fall, fix the firwood shed. In the late fall, put up a livestock shelter in the pasture and try to finish a livestock feeder. The summer needs to be devoted to your barn drainage problem and if there is time, you can then work on building your bridge over troubled water. If you can solve the barn drainage problem and complete four other projects, I would count it as a very successful year.

I'm looking forward to seeing the bridge being built. What sort will it be. A standard type supported on some sort of columns or will it be a pontoon type on floating supports. My vote is for a pontoon , easier to build and put in place and will carry a heavier load for a given size.

The bookshelf would be a good winter project. For the bridge, if you dont have a plan already, floating those trailer frames with encapsulated foam ( like a dock) seems like a good way to not care about the water level if it changes much while controlling the build scope. Cant wait to see what you do. For the firewood shed, you might kill 2 birds if you expand that to be 3-4 bays x2 where you do your 2 bays of firewood, a few of tractors ( at least the KYMs) and implements for the rest. Happy 2025!

Suggestion for the wood shed makeover. Make the design wider (same width) than deeper so you can "easily" get to your totes. Even if you stack them, wider is better than deeper so you don't have to play Tetris. I hope you get what I'm saying.
