Thanks Ray! We’ve had Helga 8 years from new in January, so averaging 5000 per year, but we had Covid in between, so some years less and some years more. We’ve only had issues with Helga once (two years old) , but it wasn’t her engine. Her Fiat Ducato engine is a solid workhorse 👍🏻

I had to laugh at Slaw’s concerns about the dogging and then he gets checked by a sniffer dog!🤧 Glad to see your comment about Helga and the Fiat engine; I have just downsized and my new motorhome is on the Fiat chassis with that engine. I look forward to seeing some more weekend away trips whilst waiting for your next foray across the Channel. It has just struck me that with the issues about the pet passports what hope for us next year when the new European travel “restrictions “ come into effect!

If you want to avoid Hamburg in future use the Wischhafen - Glückstadt ferry which is really cheap and there are places to stay near either port.

You have to get an animal health certificate to go out but you could get a Spanish pet passport before you come home. Worth checking with a vet when you get out there!

Thanks Paul! Yes, we’ve heard of vets in Spain who will issue an EU Pet Passport to a UK resident. Pointer in Estepona is one of them. Do your research though as some Spanish vets will only give a one year rabies vaccination instead of a three year one. To get into the EU you will need an Animal Health Certificate from your vets or one of the specialist vets like Abbeywell Vets in Folkestone
