My folks had a 18 year age gap. 3 kids were married for 42 years until he died. The only thing I can see/say personally against such an age gap is that the older partner dying 'sooner' has a high probability of happening and it is, of course, quite heartbreaking. This is very common in my country. Women are allowed to get married legally at the age of 16, while men can get married legally at the age of 19. What makes it weirder is the fact that we can't own an identity card before we turn 17. Not to mention many men who live in rural areas tend to marry teenage girls. Even in some areas, many of the girls' parents fake their daughters' birth year, so that they're able to get married legally before 16. One of my neighbors got married at the age of 13 when her husband was 29. I also remember this viral news where a 17-year-old girl was forced by her parents to marry a 62-year-old man because her parents couldn't pay off their debt. It was viral because the girl was crying hysterically. To be honest, marriage in my country is so messed up although divorce rate and domestic violence are extremely low. I still don't understand why the governments allow underage girls to get married. 2 decades ago was even worse. Girls could get married legally at the age of 12, and boys could get married legally at the age of 15.

Actually it's not. It's way less common than in USA or Europe, for example. It's historically been like that, age gap relationships were never tolerated here. Women barely are interested in old men here because sex life is considered very important and men have no interest in younger girls because they value emotional stability in women. Couples are usually +/- 2-3 years, even 5 years difference here is rare and weird.

I date younger women, below 28. at first, I felt a little bothered by ppl judging me, but now I don't care. all my best relationships, including the one I'm in now, are with younger women. before my injury it's fair to say I was a bit of a bad boy but now I'm always about the committed relationships forget the haters, they don't live your life they don't know how u got to where u are. u look after yourself, your husband and kids. Why? Once you’re adults and have an adult mindset and are living life, love is love. My man is 15 years older than me, which means by the time I was graduating my graduate school program, he had served his military obligation, and had all of his kids and a full on career and house. But now we’re 40 and 55. So you see something wrong there? You can always make it seem creepy by showing childhood pics and the difference in time that way. I will always have been a toddler when he was a teenager. But now in my 40s and his 50s we’re just 2 loving adults. The issue comes if someone that much older groomed a little one and made the relationship toxic with a power imbalance. Be worried about the ACTUAL monsters under the bed and deal with that first
