You should add a little ramp “similar to the front of a ski” on the side of the pipe plow to prevent it from digging into the dirt and it will also act like a natural depth stop point.

Morning Mike, have an idea for the front of the waterline plow. Weld on a flat plate on an angle on the front side of it to act as a skid. It will help it “float” across the uncut ground and also keep mud from building up there and keep the front of the plow from scalping or digging in as you go.

As an old retired Mechanical Engineer who owns/operates small equipment on my property, I was very impressed with the performance of your plow and pipe coil feeder - the plow had some hard stuff to handle when you needed the 850 but everything stayed together. Suspect you already figured out that the bottom platform for the pipe coil could be a bit larger in diameter to keep coils from going underneath and your rebar vertical guides could be extended a bit to tame the coil as it wants to unload like a coiled spring. Enjoy your videos so keep up the good work.

Neat poor mans fix for extra traction in the mud. Learned it in Alaska. Using lengths of harden 1/2" chain. Weld chain at angle on each side of your Grouser Bars with hard facing electrodes. This forms an X when you look down the length of the chains.🤔👍Rich mans fix replacement grouser bars of different thicknesses ordered online you can weld these on with hard facing electrodes also.

@@warrenmichael918 you just did up those spots to see if its there. The actual leak on my grandfathers line was where the connection between the city water was to his line. Not that they knew that but they also had no idea where that connection was. Unless its due to damage or corrosion the points of connection are where leaks are going to occur. IF the knew where the city line connected to my grandparents they would have dug there first and only had to spend IIRC like 20% of the cost on digging up over 200 feet of soil with manual labor (no room for a machine).

Also the damage on the last JOINT before Pump shack , would have been caused by the SAWING action ( CAUSES KINK or CHAFING )when the plow ran into TOUGH soil .Nice to see things working . If you are able to make a boot for a 40 mm pipe, then you will be ready to install loops for geothermal heatpumps! That plow reach a perfect depth, and you got some niiiiice clay. A Perfect combo to get a good, reliable source of heat. 👍 Nice job, boys! ( One more idea...
