The real real world: only time will tell, and people are all going to have different opinions, and that’s ok that people don’t feel the same way. Yes they added 6,000 autos to the market. But there are also 75% less autos on the market because he doesn’t sign in Panini products.

You set your money on fire opening virtually any product, and not many allow you to get 40-50% of it back as the floor. Mercury has done that, even though unlicensed, and very expensive.

Nice results, a lot better than others I've seen... not sure why people think guaranteed return on these boxes, /99 RPA's are selling for as low as $2000 so where is the other $6k coming from. Plus some of the inserts are a "Direct" copy of the originals like the Sticky Fingers, check the Michael Jordan version and you'll see even the pose is the same. The wingspan pose is a copy of Jordan's Wings poster shot and card is a copy of a Topps 2008 base card. Poor design (as others have said) and lack of originality, all at a cost of $8k

I think a lot of people thought these cards would do much better on the secondary market as singles than they have. They have just flooded the market. That being said, even at $2k for an RPA, people are still getting $4-$5k back total, which is a pretty good value in terms of ripping. Most products you lose 90+%

It’s all relative. This product is not made for someone who cares about losing $450 buying a $500 box. This product is clearly made for someone who is willing to spend thousands, and is ok with losing thousands. Still a better value proposition than if he had bought 16, $500 boxes. Which I’d say a lot of people do over time.

@@hollywoodripsit's a big switch for you as you virtually said in the video that you will only gain on a box like this..... And now your saying different probably due to the loss you'll be making on this with the cards you pulled. Only way you could make money on these boxes is with a Jersey Auto/10 or /5 or one of the 56 'One of One' cards.... And your comparison if someone can afford to buy an $8k box, they could afford the loss is laughable, especially if they have be influenced into buying one by being told you can't loose. Only ones making money on these is Topps and the Breakers

It’s ok to be wrong sometimes. We made our money back on our box. Other boxes, not so much. No one can predict what these cards are going to do on the secondary market post release. We all have opinions. Sometimes right, sometimes wrong. We stand by the fact that sometimes we’re wrong. It’s being human.

It has struggled a bit due to the unlicensed nature of Topps basketball products, and a lot of it hitting the market at one time. But I agree. Should be more.

I get that this is unlicensed which does make the cards look worse. But as you explain- its the ONLY rookie autographs of Wemby (with Topps Chrome), and even if you still lose 50% on a box, that is still WAY better floor value than virtually ANY other product on the market. Nice hits!

Someone gets it! We don’t recommend ripping boxes generally with ROI being so low. But ripping boxes is about fun and upside. And this has massive upside with a much higher floor than most products even if unlicensed.

I don’t know. IMO the Non autos cards are worth a lot less than you think. And the difference between /10 and /35 looks poor. I think the RPA is the only good card.

The non auto numbered are doing much worse than anticipated on the secondary market. The numbered inserts much better. The autos that are doing well are the ones where his back is turned to the camera where you can’t tell it’s unlicensed. Been fascinating to track secondary market prices on these singles. Yes unlicensed- but also only rookie Wemby autos (Topps). Only time (and Wemby) will tell where they end up!

I don’t think grading the base is worth the gamble. I think some of the lower numbered autos and inserts would be worth it. Jersey # serialed cards as well. What I’ve been surprised by is how many of these one touch holders in this product are REALLY scratched up out of the box. Makes it difficult to tell surface condition without cracking that sticker and being kind of committed to grading already by doing that.

Disagree that this box will cost $1600 (20%) next year. We already have an 86 Fleer Jordan, but appreciate the suggestion!

Ah singles- I got you now. I still don’t think 20%. I think closer to 50% but totally depends what Wemby does this year as well. As for the Jordan stuff- who knows. Totally different type of investment. Modern vs retired. We have a lot of Jordan stuff and Wemby stuff- but it’s not really an apples to apples comparison. Modern investors tend to want a higher ceiling in the short term, vs Jordan (or vintage) collectors view it more long term. Just different timelines.

Yall arr not considering how many random cards there are in this in order to have 'low' numbering on these cards. These patch autos are gunna be selling for less than 2500 in a month. Better sell this stuff now

We are indeed selling it now. I do agree they will come down into the 2s. That being said, about 3,000 of these boxes were made, and if Wemby stays healthy and goes on to have a truly unique HOF career as his skill set lends, they won’t have produced enough. Remember his ONLY rookie autos are coming from basically this and Topps Chrome.
