Thanks for having me on and for sitting through my incoherent rambles. And for also not firing me because I was too bubbly. Y'all the best - Viv

Like the sharing of authenticity, very natural and not so concerned about the outcome of the social media. Most of the conversation and situation, really happens in a reality world and the settling of unpredictable situations, for outstanding resolution with unbiased deals. And great points of learning especially dealing with personal egoism and clientele in the area of business wise.

The Woke Salaryman, I hope your advocacy also reach here in the Philippines. Your financial education helps a lot in today's financial issues in my country.

You guys are super natural at talking and insightful to listen to, I'm not even in the same business but its really useful for me to hear your lessons and reflections as a business owner nonetheless. Esp with the great sense of humour and WC's always interesting choice of metaphor haha. Wondering how you figured out that you would be great as a podcasting duo. These eps that go into your own business and experiences are the best for me, please do more!* *The 10 men in a bar parable was really good too though, got me thinking a long time

appreciate the candour among everyone here. and I seriously LOL in public when Wei Choon kept saying "interdepartmental smash" - didn't know TWS has become woke on that area 😂

haha although i don't read your comics regularly, i stayed longer for the video than i expected...it was captivating! Somehow, i could resonate with the workplace dynamics/situation described in the video, like Vivienne's dilemma of being stuck between her bosses and the clients.. and the humour and raw honesty present in the video was the captivating bit that made me stay on! Shared it on two of my social platforms too :) All the best to you guys !

This makes a fantastic recruitment video for TWS. Also childishly entertained by the 28:54 moment. Huge fan and follower from KL btw! Wishing you both nothing but the best.

Great episode man, would love to hear more about how you guys scaled your business, what you learnt along the way (hiring, business admin pains, etc), what plans you guys have for the future. SMEs get a bad rep but I feel like yall are trying to do things the "right" way

Talking about anti-social. I was once at a company where i worked with a colleague who doesn't like to talk. We can sit there for 4-5 hours without talking and she would be ok with it. But I would be at boiling point. In the end i left after 5 months.

For me I'm okay to have lunch alone at work, but if someone jio me to eat with them I'm down for it too :) Think most colleagues in my department have the same sentiments too. Especially after covid19.

Hey guys, I've been following your channel lately and I enjoy watching your videos, especially those pertaining to financial content. A few comments from me and hopefully you might find it insightful from the perspective of a viewer/listener. I've noticed that the episodes on your channels are pretty long. Usually ranging from 30 mins+ to an hour. I know some of these are podcasts but I personally don't tune in to KZbin to listen to full length podcasts. If a certain video/topic interests me, I might segregate my watch time while at work/commuting. i.e. I might listen to 1-2 segments of the video and then if I suddenly need to attend to something, I might watch the next segment at a later part of the day or another day. However, since your videos are long and usually unfiltered, it's really hard for me to catch on. A very good example was your video on "Are hawkers financially sustainable in Singapore?" In that hour long video, it was cut into 9 segments. So if I only have 20 minutes to spare while commuting, I might skip 1-2 segments and go straight to the point, and maybe re-watch the other segments later. If not, I would need to sit through 55 minutes just to listen to the segment on "Going into ecommerce" which if it's other channels, I would probably give up at the 7-8th minute or so.

Yeah very fair comment and appreciate you taking the time to say so. I also feel like it's too long. To peel back the curtains on our ops and how we see the podcast atm, the podcast is something we are trying out as a side project, and at the moment we still haven't decided to dedicate proper resources to do yet. I shoot, edit, thumbnail timestamp everything myself, besides also doing the other stuff TWS needs me to do, so I don't have a lot of time to spend editing it down to like 30 mins. BUT the fact that you're taking the time to say so (and feedback from a lot of other people) is also telling us that this is something that has potential, so I'm very heartened, and we are definitely going to try our best to make this work in a format that more people can enjoy! So maybe I spend more time editing, or we hire someone good to cut for us, or maybe A.I. will get so good that it can edit using content-aware somehow oO I definitely hear you, and I'm very very grateful you took the time to give this feedback. In the meantime don't feel bad about jumping around or not watching when it gets boring la, give us some time to figure things out, I promise you we'll try to make it better :D

@@Choonzord Having finished the ep after a few days i just want to add a counter opinion that i really like the longform content and keeping all the small chatter and jokes and all. It's very cosy and extremely entertaining! Just want to let you know in case you undervalue how good the vibe is to just soak in, or feel any desire to cut it to the most interesting parts only, or something. I really like it as it is, you all have a very entertaining dynamic. I guess i'm not here only for the financial content unlike the other person, its also nice as a business going through the same things, just to see it represented as it is.

Could you guys make an episode about talking about salary? I time-capsule back "Don't have your shit together at 30? It's ok." and saw that WC openly speaking about TWS base. I am young, and also quite transparent about my compensation package to people around me. 1. When is it okay to be discussing salary. ( Preferably when asked I assume? ) 2. Should you discuss salary among your circle of friends? 3. Do you think your worth is equivalent to what you are being compensated? ( Because you are paid for you time and expertise right? ) PS: I framed the questions in a relatively controversial way on purpose. And since you guys always throw quotes.... You can't connect the dots looking forward; you can only connect them looking backwards. So you have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future. - Steve Jobs :D

Ermm...regarding the statement about 'after 2 years, technical skills hit the threshold and the rest will be soft skills", does that mean that there is no need to upgrade my technical skills? Because if that is the case, Skillsfuture or any career-enhancement program seems to fail its purpose from the beginning.
@Choonzord
@Choonzord Жыл бұрын
Yeah you'll still need technical skills and technical skills can help you even if you're not the one executing the task. For example, you might be overseeing a freelancer. You're not doing the work, but knowing how to do it yourself will help you give better feedback, and in an emergency, you can take over to finish off the work. Why we emphasize soft skills after the first 2 years is that that was the biggest shock we felt when we were in our respective industries. Mid-career enhancement is not just moving upwards, sometimes it's also moving sideways (new industry or department) and that still require hard skills.
