My best guess, based on two quotes from Todd Howard, is that there are no vehicles or mounts and there will be no mods for them either, because they are NOT NEEDED. Why not? Exploration will be limited to a perimeter around your landing spot or outpost or city center. It appears that the "landing area" is also an "exploration area", beyond which you cannot go without returning to your ship and re-landing. If true, how large will this perimeter be? As large as New Atlantis? Perhaps. As large as the distance between Whiterun and Riverwood? Perhaps. As large as the distance between Whiterun and Windhelm? Perhaps. We have no way of knowing. -- Todd Howard says: From Starfield Direct: "We love exploration and rewarding it, but you do explore differently in this game given its scale. That usually involves exploring an area you've landed in." From Todd Howard Answers YOUR Starfield Questions: "We hope everybody enjoys it for what it is, but it is an exploration different than we've had where you're landing, you're exploring around that landing spot and then you're probably going somewhere else." -- Planet sized maps? No not really. They will be planets from the perspective of orbit but.. in actuality you will only be landing here and there to collect this or that resource and then you will be in Todd Howard's words.. "going somewhere else". Not a Skyrim on every planet no way. Skyrim, as large as it was, was not even an entire continent but only a portion of a continent. Area-wise, by counting running paces to equate to Fallout 4 or Skyrim.. these Starfield planets will be very tiny and will not be ascertainable because.. exploration will be tethered to your outpost or landing location. **

I will just fish in Starfield the equivalent way I would in RDR2: space dynamite
