When the TTC said that the bus is the better way, it meant at 3:00 a.m.

It may almost be better, to get down to Queen’s Quay, to get off at Bathurst Station, take the 511 tram down and then switch to the 509 Harbourfront. Yes Ilike tram lanes but not when they’re not being used.

this is what happens when you neglect public transit improvements/expansion for decades. The Ontario Line will help, but that line should have been built 40 years ago.

Two observations: Some years ago - before Liberty village was really developed - it was faster walking along King from Dufferein to Bathurst than taking the streetcar. I took the Spadina streetcar a few weeks ago, just before the construction, from Spadina Station to Queens Quay - and it godawful slow. The ride back in the evening, after rush hour, was a half hour. I timed it.

This. Toronto City Hall seriously should focus more on providing sustainable and accessible bike paths in the city. We coule be the next Amsterdam in terms of bike usage. Even the underground PATH routes should be open to bicycles.

Just leaving a tip for peeps in the comments section. I live in the GTA. It's July 2024, WWE had a PPV on the weekend at Scotia Bank arena. When the event ended, I wanted to grab some Chinese food near university avenue which is like a 7 min drive. Taxi driver on the side says, if you pay cash $40 for a 7 min ride, I said no way, I'd rather walk then pay $40, taxi driver has the gull to say, ok ill give you a better price, $35. I said no thanks, and walked away. I walked from Union Station to the Royal Fairmount Hotel which is across the street from Scotia Bank Arena. Took an Uber from the hotel to the restaurant on University Ave. for $7. Be careful even with taxi drivers in the city because a lot of them assume you're probably someone outside visiting who's aloof to the traffic and time to get t your destination, if you can walk 15 mins in downtown for some extra steps, do it.
