If the pistons lose to the celtics and raptors, not only would they have the longest losing streak over multiple seasons in the history of the nba in just one season (Current holders are the 14'-15' and 15'-16' 76ers at 28 straight losses). @Amm17ar
@Amm17ar Жыл бұрын
People will blame the players, coaches.....but this is an organizational flaw when you have several years in the lottery. Its like the Warriors (before they sold and changed the culture while drafting Curry and the other guys, but we still can see the Warriors continue to be plagued with the same terrible drafting that led to them being bad for majority of the past decades before this current core). The NBA lottery and draft is there so that no team theoretically spends more than a few years at the bottom. In practice though, bad organizations find ways to be bad..... Detroit is a bad organization. Why dont the Celtics, Spurs, Heat, or Thunder spend decades at the bottom? They draft well, but they also develop talent. They move with the times, they invest in peripheral needs like the best trainers, medical staff, dieticians and recovery methods. They have personnell that stick around because theyre good at what they do and ultimately have owners that relatively care about winning and putting out a good product. We always see players get traded, coaches get fired and in the worst scenarios, GMs get fired.....but the system is incapable of holding owners accountable for putting out consistently bad products. A fan of an NBA team and resident of a city cant just go out and buy another product. If you dont like a Kit Kat you can buy a Mars bar, if you dont like your NBA team, youre stuck with it. And if you stop going to games because theyre bad, you as a local fanbase risk losing your team if you all stop going to games. Its a lose, lose for fans with terrible organizations and terrible ownership. Its not easy rebuilding a team but organizations like Sacramento, Charlotte, Detroit, New York or Washington who have been bad significantly more often than they are good are defying the system in the worst way possible. Its a system meant for the worst teams to have the best chance at drafting the next talent......and they still get it wrong lol, the systems not broken. We see teams like Indiana, Utah, Toronto, or OKC spend a few years at the bottom and then creep up into contention. But I know well see Detroit there for a while, I know Charlotte is going to be a lottery team next year too, I know the Kings are going to be back in the lottery in the next 3 years. Theres no reprocussions for owners who consistently put out bad products. Also, just because a team is in the playoffs doesnt mean its run well. Philly, Chicago, Dallas, Minny, Orlando, New York, and Cleveland just to name a few arent run that well either, they just luck into talent once in a while due to other factors like location and chance. Its annoying being an NBA fan in general seeing the same few teams who are run significantly better being capable of putting it together in a timely manner, vs. making their fans suffer constantly. Im a Celtics fan, so lifes usually pretty good and I know when were bad, it wont be for long. I dont know if Id be a fan of the NBA or team if my city or team was so consistently bad.

I mean hell, they regularly put up 100+ ppg as a team. The problem is their defense, both in terms of defensive lapses from every single guy on the roster, to scheme issues, I mean you just aren't going to win basketball games if you're giving up 120+ points a game. The bulk of their issues are things that you should be able to fix in the film room, and at practice, but its as if they literally don't spend any time looking at game tape.

To try to justify the reason why the Pistons are losing, based off on what I've seen, they're trying at this point to get better draft picks because they trust in this year's draft class. In so many clutch games, guys like Alec Burks or Bogdan is taking the last shot, in which any coach's eyes, they would normally get Cade the ball as he's the automatic bucket getter. They're trying to make Cade not take as much shots so that they don't lose him in free agency since he didn't have much production(in an ideal case) and teams wouldn't offer him huge contracts that they can't match. But at this point, based off on interviews, Cade seems like he trusts his team and has hope. Honestly, to me, this is a management problem. Monty Williams is a top tier coach and for him to make Burks take the last shot is obviously the influence from the management. I get that they're trying to get a good draft pick but this losing streak has made fan attendance decrease and their profits plummet.

In terms of near the end of the video, that clutch win %. It's really simple to explain. If they're down 8+, they give up, coach and bench included. You can't buy mental instability and for 15 years, that losing mentality has killed that franchise. As a Pistons fan since '94... I mourn.

I was at the game last night and I couldn’t believe everything that happened. I was in utter shock because Cade and Duren did everything in their power to win that game along with Bogi. Burks after the game was smiling and dapping everyone up and he’s supposed to be a veteran leader in our locker room. Long story short, this is a bad dream that we cannot wake up from

The Piston’s paid Monty Williams 80 million dollars only to turn the team around and begin to show that the tanking had been worth it. Now the Piston’s look even farther away from being at least decent. This team looks leaderless with no identity or scheme to rely upon with players that don’t make extra efforts and feel like they’re playing for themselves than for the team as a whole. It’s honestly sad to watch and I don’t know if their is a light at the end of this tunnel for Detroit.

Pistons were sacrificed for the Lions. As a Detroit resident, I was there for the ritual, and it has been WELL worth it. Someone has to suck. We can't have all 4 teams be competent.

Varejao was on the Cavs forever, and they didn't win anything. The Warriors won the 2015 finals, and Varejao went there. Then in 2016 the Cavs won the finals. After that he went to Brazil for 2 years, then went to Cavs, which again they didn't win anything. Just tragic.

Do they really just avoid shooting shots no matter what from the mid-range corners or what? Holy hell that's wild to look at the shot chart for the Brooklyn game. How do you avoid two huge portions of the floor like the plague, especially when you're breaking records for losing? That itself says a hell of a lot. Only 3s and shots from the key, with a rare shot from the top of the key and wings in mid range. That's wild bro. And sad. "At this point they'll do and try anything at all to win games." Well, clearly, no, they won't dare do such a thing as that. If they did, that chart would NOT look like that at all. Let me add I can about bet you the next time we (the Blazers) play the Pistons, we're losing the game. AND I believe one of their two wins this season was against us, too. lol

Really rough season to be bad... Pretty much everyone else is trying to win. Only a couple of teams are out of any contention by design and they are going to feel every inch of that pain... We'll see when the Pistons are going to win again... This will most likely drag on for a while.

I also find it absolutely crazy that THIS roster is the worst team ever. At the begining of the season i thought they were about to be like 12th/13th but not on a 27 loosing streak. Thats crazy because when u only look at the roster at the start of the season, it's aint that bad lmao

As a Pistons fan who is crazy enough to have watched majority of our games this year I can simply say our issue comes down to roster construction. I know people can blame Monty, and I do in some regards, but we don’t have those players who can just get hot and shoots lights out. If we do it’s Cade and only Cade. I also fell for the hype thinking we could be a decent team this year before the season began but after watching all these games I realize I was surely mistaken. The roster construction is so bad that we really only have 2/3 players that can create their own and they’re surrounded by non factors so the defense can just collapse onto them. And yes, I will continue to watch them this season cause I’m still crazy enough to.
