For anyone wondering about the Bermuda Triangle, it's most likely only such a notorious area for ships and planes because it's a very popular shipping route so there's just a lot of traffic in the area in general, hence more sinking boats, and also weather is just not great and very unpredictable in the area

I’ve rarely seen a Codenames round go so off the rails as that first round, lol. Ze and having teammates who totally ‘get’ his clues-what an iconic duo. XD That was a difficult board though and you put up a good fight as Spymaster. There were a lot of great moments in this session, like Vik confusing jockey with hockey, especially since he did well on that round, learning that Uneasy eats stickers, Ze’s ‘baby’ betraying him, Ze’s interactions with Siri and struggle to not say ‘Aristocats’, the mass confusion about deserts and Atlantis, Ze forgetting his mom’s former job-I could go on but the comment is already long enough, lol. Thanks for another great Codenames session! I always enjoy when this game pops up and I hope there will be many more in the future! Also, wow Ze, assuming silk has to refer to only underwear when silk dresses, ribbons, gloves, and stockings do exist, lol.

It's not technically cheating to look up your clue like Aristocrat to better understand how your clue links to the word(s) on the board (I would've looked it up anyway who gives a fuck to be honest). However, it would be cheating to have your chat help you if you are an Operative(s) since they already have that rule integrated.

The Amazon Rainforest is actually regarded as a wet desert due to the soil content largely being clay. The only thing that allows for it to be a rainforest is the thin layer of soil produced from a mixture of decaying plant and animal life and fecal matter, human produced soils developed by pre-Columbian peoples and their waste, and from the mineral contents of the Sahara desert that get swept up and carried across the Atlantic and then land in the Amazon and along the coasts of the Americas (thank you lake Mega Chad for all of your eroded aquatic plant and animal life). Brazilian agriculture and animal husbandry is largely destroying the conditions that allow for it to be a rainforest and expose its reality as a desert as Brazilians just use synthetic fertilizers to replace the organic soil which needs to be regularly replaced and is unsustainable.

The "Eye of the Sahara" being Atlantis is fake, made up by conspiracy theorist online. It's actually called the "Richat Structure" and it was formed naturally thousands of years ago. Atlantis is also just an allegory by Plato to explain why Athens is the superior society. But if you want to go by Platos allegory then Atlantis would be a Greek city state somewhere in Aegean Sea that warred with Athens. The idea that it's in the Atlantic is because Plato said it's "beyond the Pillars of Hercules" which we understand as the Strait of Gibraltar, but it's believed "Pillars of Hercules" may have meant the Laconian Gulf at the time. And both Atlantic and Atlantis are named after "Atlas" so people connect the two names. But regardless Plato made allegories and was a philosopher not a historian. Unless people want to claim his cave allegory literally happened, rings that turn you invisible exist or that the soul is a chariot pulled by 2 horses too. Athens is named after Athena who had a rivalry with Poseidon related to the origins of the city, so poetically Plato made a rival city state called "Atlantis" named after Atlas a son of Poseidon and had it destroyed by the gods to show why Athens is the ideal society. It wasn't described as sci-fi advance technology or any of the other fantasy stuff ascribed to it by modern fiction which was made up in the 1800s, just a standard Greek city state with normal technology for the time.

@@sycamorph your point of view is what I'd expect from an American who's only been exposed to American education. We're not talking about not knowing the name of our Moon's craters - Atlantis is a culturally significant and ever-present reference. You don't need to know exactly where it supposedly existed, but make the very basic connection between Greek tale, Greek name and being near Greece. It's not like I'm trash talking Ze, either - Skadj couldn't explain what a recession is (!!), that's just a symptom of bad basic education in a country.
