Why did I almost cry when Rob mentioned Zuff hair growing back idk if it was the movie or the topic itself but that made me very emotional my mom has cancer it's not aggressive but cancer is cancer and I wish she didn't have it😢 also they literally said nothing on the ice and I started crying

i love andrew and florence! this was one of my most anticipated movies of the year but the same month it was released i got diagnosed with breast cancer. i couldn’t bear going through with watching it especially since i’m around florence’s age and my partner and i have a young daughter too. i still hope i can get around to watching it sometime soon, i love a good emotional drama!

my grandpa was diagnosed with stage 4 back in august. i watched this movie in theaters while he was doing chemo and cried like a baby. just watched it again here and again i’m crying like a baby. tomorrow is 2 weeks since he passed. miss you gramps 🤍🫂

I adored this movie, I cried like a baby in the last half because it's such a true depiction of the reality we face. Andrew mentioned in an interview that someone had told him 'grief is the price we pay for love', and that is so beautiful. Also, I tried cracking an egg on a flat surface this morning because of this film. I made a huge fucking mess. IF I ever see Florence Pugh, I'll let her know I was misinformed 😂

I think it's justified for her to want to compete but it was wrong to keep it a secret. She knew there was a chance treatment wouldn't work and that it was better to live her life as fully as she could.

This movie made me so angry, as cancer movies often do. I couldn’t get past the scene of her choosing to keep her cancerous ovary for the chance of someday maybe having a ✨biological✨ kid with him… Just adopt and give yourself the best chance at life wtf!! And no fight back from him in that scene. Everything else was painful and beautiful and lovely. But fuck thhhaaaattttt!
@starsalignedits9 күн бұрын
or! people can choose what they want for their bodies/lives and their partners can accept their decisions
@Stormed959 күн бұрын
@ In the end she left her young daughter without a mother, something that maybe could’ve been prevented…I just think that’s more important than having the child be biologically hers (considering this is not a “should I do surgery or not” question but just “should I keep an ovary”) Power to her, sucks for the people who love her though and I would’ve pushed back on it a little as her partner who had previously pushed the kid issue, even if she still landed on her choice. I said it repeatedly throughout the film - Andrew Garfield’s character is better than me 😅
@betteryourlife8659 күн бұрын
Adoption isn’t for everyone. I was adopted and I’d never want to do that myself. It’s a lot of trauma and adoption isn’t this beautiful thing people try to make it be.
@Stormed958 күн бұрын
@@betteryourlife865 I appreciate this perspective! But what is the alternative for all of the kids currently in the system, though? So you would have personally chosen to stay in foster care? It’s fine if you feel that way, and some of kids in the system can be reunited with their families and adoption probably isn’t right for them… but a lot of them can’t be reunited and would just end up in the system until 18. I’m not sure how that’s better than the trauma of adoption tbh… And besides, this wasn’t even a convo in the movie, and it would’ve gone a long way with me just to have Andrew Garfield’s character bring stuff like this up! We see him fight her later on some of her other choices (the competition), so just seemed weird that there was no real discussion about this and part of me felt sort of like she was doing it “for” him, which was probably part of my frustration that he doesn’t immediately say “oh no no no! You don’t have to keep your ovary, you are more important than future possible kids that don’t even exist yet” and then she could’ve pushed back with any of these above arguments about her thoughts on adoption or why she, personally, would’ve been tied to the idea of a biological child. I just can’t imagine 0 fight from him after pushing wanting kids in the past, and that no conversation was had, even if everything else had ended the same.

I know it made you angry but I’m sure women literally do this I’m real life since that’s why doctors give them a choice. Even if it’s not the smart long term decision, even if she had done the full hysterectomy there was a chance of it returning
