lol, we did that in the 90s. If memory serves me correctly it’s a horrible inhospitable little canyon but we still managed to have fun. The boys and I are heading in to check out a cave a couple miles south of 88, off Fish Creek canyon on Saturday. This weather is perfect for the Sups! Happy Hiking and thanks for sharing!

Never underestimate the number of thorns you'll find in an Arizona canyon. We were just glad to be back in the Fish Creek area now that Apache Trail is reopened - it's so beautiful out there! But yeah, inhospitable. We had a few battle wounds. What kind of cave are you exploring? Sounds like an adventure!

@ Where the road crosses Fish Creek, go south a couple miles down the canyon. At a nondescript canyon go east about another mile. It’s a pretty good cave, similar to Peppersauce. It’s not on any maps and the local grotto knows nothing about it. Found it about ten years ago. And yes, Arizona canyons can be brutal, but almost always worth it.

Devil plant!! That’s my favorite name for them 😆. Thanks for watching. Do you do a lot of off trail hiking? It definitely takes a toll in the Arizona desert. We had cholla stuck to us yesterday 😩

@ not much off trail on purpose anyway. Haha. I got off trail going around weavers needle and the cat claws tore me up. Brutal. And I have been pierced by a cholla straight through a hiking boot. Crazy. 🙃

‼️ I had one stuck on my back, and when my friend tried to flick it off, it landed in my hand and went deep. Then it just rolled as we tried to remove it. The drama unfolded in our Tanque Verde Falls video. Worst cholla attack I ever experienced!!

@@wildpathsaz haha. I’ll have to check it out. 🙃 I’m getting packed for my hike tomorrow. My 11 year old Honda pilot died last week so I upgraded to a jeep. I’m hitting a trailhead that I couldn’t access before. It’s like a whole new world of trails opened up for me! Hope you are getting some good hikes this weekend too!
