Since orange is sold out, I’d say your trial run was a success. Thinking that orange might be a popular color considering it’s Prusa’s primary accent color and they’re a leader in the 3D printing community. 🤷🏽‍♂️

The MVP lesson is SUPER HELPFUL! I’ve done it accidentally, but most of the time I’m trying to add all the features to the first draft. It’s helpful for company processes and other non-customer-products to start with the simplest version that will work, then get feedback and build from there.

I purchased the black pla. It seemed to have no plastisizers. As a filament novice, that loves modern high speeds. This filament took a while to get it to print correctly. I enjoyed the learning curve but others might find it a challenge. It is working now and comes out a very flat satin. It feels almost grippy, fabric like and almost like corn husk. I can definitely use this to my advantage but its definitely has pros and cons. My old filaments where more slippery to touch and more similar to injection molding. In conclusion, Slant 3D is accurate to 1.75 and 100% PLA. There are no modifiers that I can tell and that can be bad or good depending on your application. I am excited to see more filaments become available especially with modifiers such as citric esters as the glass transition time In the hot end would GREATLY BENEFIT for high speed printers. I expect even the PETG coming out will be more brittle than the competition without some additives. I am super excited to see this company develop. Keep working hard 💪

@@mgarza5157 Thats incredible! What machine are you using? I really really had to tweak setting and I maxed out being reliable @100 mms/s @210c @16 Volumetric at 16mm3/s Anything faster caused my extruder to click and skip. Absolutely no way to go any faster for me. (I normally stick to my 3 High speed brands with absolutely no issues and the same 200 mm/s as yours* If the print allowed that is *. I did expect something like this though going to a Non High speed filament. I just didnt expect so many calibration adjustments from the default pla profiles) 215c was layer issues. 220c turned it into shiny goo with no bed adhesion. The only way I got it to work was I set my retraction length to .25mm and retraction speeds 40 mm/s and 40/mms. This is all with Zero stringing. Which was all just extreme trial and error and thinking about how the plastic was melting for me This all made sense to me as I couldn't get this filament to transition to a glass state unless I had it sitting in the hot end way longer than I am used to. My guess was verified as I did not get a single drop of oozing / stringing My previous filaments would be a puddle of strings with anything similar to these settings. I am a novice compared to many please tell me what Printer you are using I have Neptune 4 Klipper / Orca 1 year of printing. 10kg of total prints Im 40 with a Lifetime of Tinkering and Building

I don't understand the mixed language around memberships and what they may possibly offer. Memberships will help you gauge interest for future runs of material, but they will only include bonus videos, a discount coupon, and some early access opportunities, this sounds more like we started our own patreon not a bonus to why i should spend my money here. Can tangled focus on being a reliable provider of filament? The ability to depend on consistent stock is an offering that isn't available to consumers. Removing the time sink and thought from ordering, allowing 3, 5, 8, etc spools a month to show up and allow the business to produce it's product is a value add. If a membership allowed us to sign up for subscription then it would be something different brought to market. Waiting for further news, i'm not sold yet

Working with Public safety at times, appreciate the availability of some colors close to high viz colors. What it looks like in the video is a faded high viz orange, but the website looks closer to high vis orange. (Note that hi vis orange is going to be a different pantone color, but I suspect that most people who see it will respond as if it's high viz.)

Hey Bro, your videos have always been super helpful, i appreciate that and wish you all success... just a tip... theres a chronic lacking in the market for ABS and ASA in earth tones... terra cottas, adobes... general clay nd stone... which is infuriating because one of the main selling points of ASA is outdoor color retention... I want these tones for outdoor planters... I find chocolate and skin tones, drab beige and bright colors rarely represented in natural ceramic raw materials.

After the Stranger Parts review of the Micronics SLS printer my hype level dropped from 11 of 10 to a perfect 5 out of 7. You cant, and should NEVER try in manipulate a review in anyway! and not get butthurt and want the printer back when he don't want to lie about the printer, or wait to talk about it until after Kickstarter is over. Now I'm waiting on a response from Micronics to get there side before i will even re consider it again for my work.

@@yayinternets I dont think its hubris, more inexperience. Some college kids and their professors are likely to have a steep learning curve on the way to manufacturing. I really REALLY want this to be successful. I didnt back because I dont want to risk 2400 right now. They destroyed their funding requirement so I hope they are successful. I'll probably go for Gen 2 machine as that would probably be better timing for me personally.

MVP discussion discussion was excellent, particularly the context of relevant examples. This coming Tuesday will be 9 months since the first batch of Tangle Filament was offered for purchase. "We didn't plan to do this. It was supposed to be this whole thing around a new launch." (Sep 18, 2023, from the blog) This mush be the MV\_ (minimum viable launch). For Slant 3D "printing in space", talk to Axiom Space, as they plan to launch the first module of the first commercial space station in 2026. (HAB1 is their research and manufacturing module, and HAB2 is the crew module). BTW: "3D Bioprinting", printing living tissue is a topic on their website, because no/minimal support structure is required. FYI: NORSK Titanium is a Norwegian company that is not manufacturing in the U.S. (believe NY state) focused on the aerospace sector. Since titanium is an expensive resource, machining can be cost prohibitive. 3d printing, they say 3d printing and lite machining eliminates ~90% of the waste seen with traditional CNC manufacturing.

Micro gravity can cause more issues that you might expect. For example the lack of convention current can cause some things that normally are fine to overheat. This could complicate both the electronics and the part cooling. I imagine it also has significant impact on lubrication in some cases (ex: a lot of aircraft engines don't work at well in free fall or inverted due to oil distribution issues, similar things could happen in micro-gravity.). So micro-gravity 3d printing is more complex than just no more support material, but yes, that probably is the biggest change.

Finally digging into my 3kg spool of Tangled Black: It is somehow both the cheapest and best pla I've used? It prints so well, I almost don't want to use it for jigs and prototypes. Pretty much every day we find yet another thing that doesn't work like we expected in microgravity - so no, it was not at all obvious that the printers would work in that environment. Was it *probable* - yes, or ESA wouldn't have spent all the money lofting all that mass. But by no means guarunteed. Microgravity is weird! So it's really exciting that this worked out. Of course, you blew past the truly difficult part of the entire project, which was heating something to 1,400 degrees without causing the 95% oxygen atmosphere on the ISS to explode. (yes, yes, technically it would deflagrate, not explode.) Which they did by pumping out the oxygen and replacing it with nitrogen, and then presumably reversing the process when it was time to get the part. Honestly, this is yet another example of how laypeople don't understand just how *hard* doing everything in space is and so don't appreciate the effort needed to make something "simple" work. Oh, and "ESA" is pronounced as a single word - ees-ah - just like NASA is a word. Both are true acronyms.

The problem I think there is as a customer that buys a limited (maybe even one-time) run of filament. Is that when the customer's stock runs out, he can't satisfy their own clients anymore, which makes it (at least to me) not very viable to buy as a resource. If I start using this limited color and the product takes off, after a certain time. I need to start disappointing my own customers and offer other colors than they might have wanted. I understand the MVP itself for Tangled is "Are our customers interested in something else than black?", but it's aimed at the hobbyist, not at the professional level. At least that's how I feel about it. Personally I would say, if an MVP for a color seems viable, keep producing it, so your customers can depend on it and can take the risk.
