Candy being turned into candy cotton basically increase dissolving rate by a lot. Instead of slow dissolve in your mouth, you get a big burst of flavour from sugar fibers which dissolve all at once. Also, these fibers can disperse easily in the air. this would disperse all the capsaicin the air. That is why you get "spicy air" when it gets spun out.

My family runs a big carnival in the US and the cotton candy reminded me of so many good childhood memories. Rolling the stick is so much fun especially with the industrial size machines! Edit: to explain why they started coughing with the spicy one- when you roll floss there is always tons of tiny single strings of floss that get lifted into the air. I’m talking tons of them. That’s why you can smell cotton candy so intensely and also why it feels like you can taste it in the air, that’s because you can. They were literally breathing in the small bits of floss in the air.

Hi Jolly, I started college 2 months ago and I’ve been having a very difficult time adjusting. I have no idea what I want to study and I constantly feel pressure to perfect everything although reality is that I’m not perfect and everything is hard to do. I wake up feeling more tired than the day before and go to sleep more anxious than I did before. Crying has become more frequent and I haven’t genuinely smiled once because of constant worries about my future. Your videos give me a sense of calm and a break from my chaotic reality and I’m so thankful for these videos. I always imagine myself in the experiment and try to feel the joy that you guys would be feeling in the videos. I also want to explore my interest in film & media because of how cool your videos are and I’ve always had an interest in video production/acting. Ur comment was acc so relatable it broke my heart. I have felt the same thing especially in the last few months. I do not what I want to do with my life and i am at a point rn where I have to make a decision about what I want to do with it. Every day I cried due to the overwhelming anxiety of it all and the fear of failing and shake from the anxiety to the point where I can’t function. It’s been so hard not having any direction and not knowing what I truly want and being forced to know at such a young age. Now I have reached a point where I truly believe everything happens for a reason and am trying to stay positive and work with my situation and circumstances even if the result ends up being not what I thought it would be.

I started my uni degree two weeks ago. A few days before the period of changing major ended, I realised that I obsolutely wanted to study psychology rather than economics major. :( Didnt manage to change it. too many important documents to change.

I had to laugh at Ollie, trying to extinguish the heat by dousing the "cotton candy" in water. 🤣🤣🤣 I feel like he instantly regretted his decision to make candy floss out of one of the world's hottest candies when they began to choke by essentially making mace. . . They hadn't even tried it yet, at that point. 😆😆😆 I can tell you one thing, that is not something that I would be trying to make anytime soon! 😆🤣😆🤣 Y'all are WAY WAY braver than I ever could be.

I've learned a few things. One, never eat while watching jolly. Two, never walk while watching jolly. Three, never draw while watching jolly. All produce terrible fits of laughter that make all of those tasks very hard.
