I carry tools with me it’s the old HD roll bag tool kit that I believe Harley has discontinued in the baggers, I used them mostly especially for those parts which tend to get loose like your foot peg did. Now about my 2nd trip to Sturgis, I rode solo to Sturgis to meet up with friends who had their bikes trailered in as they traveled by air. I rode 621mls. starting from Rhode Island to the 1st stop in Euclid, Ohio, the next day 366mls. to the 2nd stop in Joliet, Illinois waiting for two other guys who never made it to my destination, I continued on solo 561mls to the 3rd stop in Sioux Falls, SD and then 354mls straight to Sturgis. I have to tell you it was one of the best times riding solo because I broke it up with the in between short days. You can ride hard straight through if you’re pinch for time, but here’s an example of doing so with those two other guys I was waiting for they both started a day later to accomplish the 1000 miles a”Iron Butt Challenge” in one day. While doing so they both got speeding tickets in PA traveling over 100 mph, which could be considered “reckless driving” and the one who ruined his engine on his brand new bike on a 2015 HD Road Glide Special riding practically on 1 piston all the way back home.

🛑🛑 Great Bike Night 👍!! It’s good you guys got out. As a parent of 3 girls, nights where you and your spouse are out being free of the kids are “golden”. Enjoy those days apart from the kids, as much as the days with the kids 😀👍.

Great video. I watch it on my TV. When we went to Sturgis, 2017. We did trailer the bikes. Stayed 14 miles up into the Black Hills from town. 8 day's there to ride. Made the most of that. I do need a tool kit. Again this video was cool. Thank you for sharing.

I haven’t been to Sturges yet either. For me from NC would be a good 600 miles a day saddle time. That’s a hell of a lot of riding.

split it up into smaller ride times... I go up from Oklahoma, and we take the scenic route and take in the small towns and such... just leave a day or 2 earlier so you don't have to ride as hard... or as long... it's a great time and well worth the trip... even if you only go once... you can still say: Yeah, I've don Sturgis...

I have been to Sturgis 3 times. You don't have to ride, especially when you are 2000 miles away. When I get there, I like to ride and enjoy the sights and sounds. If I rode a couple thousand miles, I would need some down time. And I went the week prior to the actual event, the vendors are set up and not as many people. But just the beautiful riding is worth the trip!

Guestimating you guys are in the Albany area... it's about 26 hours to Sturgis from there... so you need to figure out how far you can ride in a day without pushing yourselves too hard... it'd be a great VLOG series... I'm in Oklahoma and rode my FXD up... was a GREAT time...

I refused to carry tools. And my bike has left me stranded on the side of the road multiple times. The problems my bike had they weren't going to be able to be fixed on the side of the road. what did you have for a dirt bike? I had an RM 400 then KX 420

Thank you! The wife’s 5’ 2. She’s interested in the dynas & soft tails. We were wondering if you had a few suggested mods that you did to make your bike rideable for a shorter rider?
@VPCustoms2 жыл бұрын
You're welcome! Definitely lower the rear for her. They also make some seats designed for shorter riders. If the bike has forward controls, it will help to put more of floorboard style peg on it. Also, if you do mini apes or pull back style drag bars, they can reach easier! Hope that helps!!

Watching that video of your ride to the event, your husband's video seem choppy when he spoke as opposed to yours, It could be the camera mount but I wondered how rough his bike rides compared to yours which seems to glide over the bumps like a bagger.

Seems like it depends on where the microphone fell in the helmet that day. They are different helmets, so wind noise will never be the same.

cool vid guys! hey Eric even though you only lost that little Kickstand cushion (Good eye Tanya) you mentioned the motormount....probably not a bad idea to change the front isolator for good measure...they take so much abuse especially from guys who ride and shift as hard as you and I do...... it was the first thing I had to replace on my evo lowrider. ✌️

Are you still thinking about selling the dyna Eric, or is it one to keep, you've done a great job on it. As always another good video, it looks like you have a great biking community, before i go off like to say 've never seen anyone jump a speed bump before so that's a first🤣. The only tools i carry are a Puncture repair kit and mini Air compressor, there's nothing worse then having a flat in the middle of nowhere, been there got the t- shirt 😩
