I'm flying to Riga from Houston Texas tomorrow. The length of days shortens quickly in Sept. and Oct in Latvia. When I leave on Oct 19 the days will be almost 3 hours shorter. Don't drink and drive at all in Latvia. The penalties are very severe and obey speed limits.

One word I constantly hear incorrectly and for some weird reason it grates on me. I am so happy you have not fallen in to the PronOUnciation trap. You actually said "pronunciation." It's such a common mistake for ESL speakers. Good on ya! (Taking boots off) "Who do you rekon is going to stink the place up more?" "Ah these don't stink." ha ha love it!

Pedro, it is kind of unpolite to call us ex-soviet country. Before soviets occupied us we were independent country. We can call Netherlands ex Roman empire provice.
@Tate.TopG.2 жыл бұрын
🤣🤣🤣 truth hurts. All the eastern part of Europe are ex-soviet countries. In the west , we call yall like that. Its just the truth. Dont be so sensitive. Accept your history . They saved your ass if it wasn't for the soviet yall would have been speaking German by now Plus, yall benefited from the soviet era which is not a lie as well.
@Bluzmanis2 жыл бұрын
@@Tate.TopG. I remember Soviet times very well. It was build on tears and blood. Thousands of people were tortured, sent to Siberia or killed. Including people from my family. German occupation was changed to Soviet occupation. And, yes, that hurts. Your comment, Johnny, is not just stupid, but also evil. And I highly doubt that you live in the West. Most probably you are paid kremlin troll from somewhere around.

Soviets disappeared ages ago. No reason to associate Baltics or any other place on earth as ex-soviet. It was useless disgraceful regime. I suppose you don't refer to Austria as ex-nazi country. Please change the title if its possible to show some respect. Thank you.

Agree. It's unrespectful and Pedro lost some credit in my mind. From another ex-soviet country.

Nothing are f..ed up here.. There are almost the same as in others EU states... If you talk to people who are lazy, not working or not studying than many times you hear opinion that everything is bad an everyone else are responsible for that.....
@fungo66312 жыл бұрын
Cope. Nordic countries don't assume people who aren't well off are lazy.
@drerri2 жыл бұрын
@@fungo6631 it's not completely untrue what the guy said. In ex soviet countries there is a mentality 'everything is bad' and because of this people don't see perspective and don't chase their dreams. Of course living standards and opportunities in Latvia are worse then in Finland or the Netherlands, but there are enough opportunities to make life better than it is now.
