Last day to join 7,500+ people in this year’s Disc Swap 🎁🥏 trashpandadiscgolf.com/2024-disc-swap

I still say if you get enough of the rubbery Super Stupid Soft Eraser plastic putters from Gateway and the Steady plastic from DGA in the Blowfly/II and the Gumputt discs I would be interested in seeing this recycled for the Inner Core mold.

I had way too much fun doing this! Jesse and the Trash Panda team are honestly the best!

Idea for next TP disc. Make a CAD model of every speed 12 and morph them all into the "ideal disc". Call it the POLYMORPH.
@seymourglass26Ай бұрын
Nah, ideal disc should be a speed for all arms, like a putter. My noodle ain't calling anything 12-speed "ideal" for me, haha. Edit: You still got my thumbs-up, JMilly.

Great 5 day series. I love what Panda Nation is doing and I absolutely love coming along for the ride during your experiments.

I think you’re on to something wicked cool - random speckle pattern glow discs. I’d be interested in them for sure.
@100zombieslayers9Ай бұрын
The glow is super interesting. Has me thinking. Grind multiple different glow color discs, and make something out of it. Do you get cool RGB glow or does the light mix and just glow white? Maybe green just overpowers?

Glow Zone perhaps 🤔

Y'all should do an inner core out of 50/50 clear and MVP glow grind. I bet it would make an AWESOME glow disc

I second this

Or at least the Champion glow and clear Champion/Z discs in the same color.

I hope this final experiment opens the door for more recycling opportunities for lesser recycled brands.

Awesome 5 videos. Hope you guys do this again next year

Y'all had fun with that one! You 2 are definitely friends, it's not fake hype. I wanted to see Tony take off the hat and head-but the disc in the grinder😂

When I molded plastic, we used chilled aluminum cooling plates that were hooked up to a chiller to cool the hot parts to lock in important dimensions.

Would love to see a strong amount of eclipse mixed with a lot of neutron/star or any other grippy plastic. I like eclipse plastic especially in the fall when the sun goes down earlier but it’s kinda slick. Would live to see a grippy version.

I've found 2 identical stock star wraiths (same color, same profile same colored stamps, prolly from the same run) that are also uniquely grippy for star plastic, almost kinda waxy until some surface wear. So I once noticed them glowing dimly after offing the lights from the room and sure enough, they leave a trail of speckled glow for a second when pointed with an UV light. Obsolete for actual glow purposes but it was an very interesting find. Inspired by this find I proceeded to check my whole disc collection with UV and also found my revived plastic warship(westsides version of the trilogys factory regrind plastic) also lit up and almost enough to be actually usable on a glow round. The regrind I understand it's a mix of all their premium plastic grind, But the stock star wraiths are fascinating.

Would be cool to see what happens when you mix the glow plastic from all companies, and from different times. Since some glow plastics tend to glow a lot, but just in the beginning, and some glow a little bit, but for a long time, and then the Kastaplast/MVP that glows quite a lot, and a long time. I wonder if we could see a disc that glows insanely bright, for a long time :P

@ksistolensouls3896Ай бұрын
With bonanza putting the stool on on one of the disc to remove the dome I’m guessing the puddle came from the cold stool cooling the plastic quicker being on the plate rather than the rim…. I wonder if a warm stool or hot piece of metal would make it flat rather than puddle
@lloydrich4797Ай бұрын
Do any of the companies have like patents of their plastic blends? And if so would recycling them this way be a legal issue,?
@FuckGoogle2Ай бұрын
I think it'll be fine as long as they don't add a recycle clause in there.
@caseysmith544Ай бұрын
The only one I know of is the Vibram plastic but that is more on the manufacturing process and using rubber, both are under the same patent, so if one were to use the same manufacturing process with a very flexible plastic, silicone or if a person used a similar rubber in a molded process the person in both other cases would be okay to do so.
@willemm9356Ай бұрын
It seems like the drying process thoroughly mixes up the colours, so for swirlies you might be better off drying each colour separately and then chucking them in the hopper?
@DiscMaimerАй бұрын
I thought the foil made the plates not reusable? Or is that only if you don't want flakes in it?
@discjunkiesDGTАй бұрын
that was cool, curious why those mix of colors make that final color, reminds me of the Roaming Thunder CD2 color

Thinking about the post office gains from 7,500+ discs being shipped out at $5+ each... I'm sure it adds barely anything to whole scheme of things, but dang, all to trade a used disc with someone.

Can you help me? I played weekly as a young man and had a putter made of rubber. Almost %100 sure it was innova.probably from 00s give or take 10 years. There was no stiffness at all just a rubber you could bend completely with no effort or deformity. It was my favorite putter ever but since my stroke some things are forgotten like the name of it. I have been looking and it could’ve been a rhino but there’s no videos of them that seem as flexible or soft.

Why is Colorado full of great disc golfers and content makers when the elevation and conditions make playing there objectively worse than most states? Like, all my memories of playing in Colorado involve a combination of snow, cacti, and rocks that want to murder my discs.

Have yall considered doing a "mystery flavor" disc color where you run one color, then when it's almost all the way out, you refill with a second color. Like.how dumdums does their mystery flavor. Get the color cross over for a couple of discs at the change over.
