In this video we show you the process of how we moved our toilet drain in a concrete foundation. In the process we unearthed discovered we had a post tensioned slab... It wasn't marked or stamped anywhere in the house. Thankfully we didn't hit anything!
If you hire this out, it's going to get pretty expensive pretty fast. We show you the tools and steps we took to move ours and hopefully it will give you the encouragement you need to tackle your next project!

Yikes if that tension cable breaks/snaps right under the toilet??

Nice job. I want to do this same thing with ours, but we would need to move it ~20 feet. Most likely some water lines and sewage pipe to a sink would be in the way. The toilet right now is next to a small shower but it would be relocated to a small closet that is directly across from the bathroom, seperated by a vanity. This is all on the same wall of the house. I had an idea to just use a rear-outlet toilet and connect the pipe to where the existing toilet is 😂 It would actually be easy to hide under some drywall and the vanity, but I would have to put a bench in the shower, which we would expand after the toilet is gone. Horrible idea I know but cutting up the concrete just seems like a tough job. Our slab was poured in 1978 and I have no idea what kind it is. Edit: One nice thing I saw in this video is the slab doesn't look very thick. I hope ours is about the same!

Oh wow! That's definitely a lot of concrete busting! It's supposed to be stamped in the garage typically if it's a post-tension slab. Ours wasn't though. Go figure. LOL. And as for thickness, I'd say our slab was maybe 4-6" thick. I had no idea what to expect. Good luck on your project!

@@DebtFreeDIY Thanks. That's good, we don't have anything stamped in the garage so hopefully it's not! 4"-6" is what I would expect, but for some reason it doesn't look that bad in the video to me lol

You forget the tub drain. A sewage vent would be nice. Good luck getting glue in that tiny crack. Not being mean, just a couple of thoughts.

you could have wrapped foam sill tape around the pipe to the thickness you wanted then just peel it out when cement is hard

Good to know! I had a friend suggest taping cardboard to it as well but didn't know how well it would all come out of the cement afterward.

@@DebtFreeDIY the foam sill seal is used all the time for stuff like that on things going through concrete pour it is slippery you just put a tab of tape on it and it will pull out you could coat it if you want it to slip out easier.
