Moved to Italy, I hope you didn't get citizenship!!!! Here taxes eat up 47% of your income, corruption is the national sport and it gets worse moving from North to South!! Not if you are American English or German, but I SWEAR no one in their right mind would move to a country where it takes two months to get water and electricity hooked up, where not all houses have methane, where for every document you have to do you will need another one that you don't have, and they will only tell you if you fail to complain to the government agency INPS, REVENUE AGENCY ETC. in person even if they have websites ..... but people with a middle school diploma work there!!! And they spend their time playing solitaire on Windows!!! There are memes about it, imagine how endemic and cancerous the phenomenon is. I hope that the mayor and a couple of regional councilors from wherever you have thoughtlessly decided to live are trusted friends and family because in Italy without political favors, YOU DON'T GO ANYWHERE. I am a doctor and following all the rules in a year I only did the documents and paid, surveyors, architects, roofers, geologists, environmental experts....... 30,000 euros and the house was still in the world of dreams, in the end I didn't make it because of an administrative quibble about the inheritance linked to the land and a badly written document from 100 years ago!!!!! Molrale blocked land. Of course I'm not the only one!! Be careful with restaurants because as soon as they see foreigners they increase their prices by 300%, pizza is better abroad because they screw over the flour especially in Naples, the fish is not fresh because they have ruined all the seabed especially in the Adriatic, not even the arrosticini are saved when I was in Croatia I saw a refrigerated truck that carried arrosticini on the Adriatic coast, because in Italy there are not enough sheep. Furthermore, wine is almost always a SCAM try to look for news on the addition of sugar to BRUNELLO DI MONTALCINO, there are people who have ended up in jail!!! Culture is worse than the worst American province abandoned to consanguinity, only Facebook tik tok goes forward and the TV shoots nonsense!!! I WONDER WHAT YOU FOUND THAT YOU LIKE I UNDERSTOOD THE PANORAMA AND THE ART BUT I HOPE THAT YOU KEEP YOUR CITIZENSHIP AND COME ONLY FOR LONG HOLIDAYS OTHERWISE I MUST THINK THAT YOU HAVE, WITHOUT OFFENCE, A SERIOUS MENTAL RETARDATION, THIS COUNTRY IS DEAD AND YOU CAN EVEN SMELL THE STINK. The inflation has eaten up the salaries like an obese woman at a wedding, the middle class has disappeared what a doctor like my father could afford without too many sacrifices 20 years ago today I dream of it and my mother was a housewife instead my wife is a doctor like me!!!! For your own good, make your "buen retiro" in Greece, in Spain in Crete, in Provence, in Corsica and Portugal (the best) BUT PLEASE DON'T HARM YOURSELF BY COMING TO ITALY!!!!

@sharonmerton9812 we're Kiwis living Spain. Government super is transportable but there are conditions attached to it. One of these being, you must be "normally resident" in New Zealand when you apply to transport it to a new country. The first place to start is to check what visas you might qualify for by looking at the conditions and criteria for each online. Google, for example, Retirement visa to Italy for New Zealand citizens. I also recommend checking to see if either of you has a descendancy pathway to an EU member country citizenship. Some EU countries allow for up to 4 generations back. The Italian embassy or consulate website will have useful information too.

Very professional marketing video. Welcome to all rich retired Americans ready to renovate our abandoned houses in the mountains and spend lots of money creating jobs for Italians. But securing permission to stay in Italy is NOT easy. It can be done but you will definitely need help from a service such as this one. All bureaucratic procedures and medical services are extremely difficult and convoluted. You will need a fixer at every step of the way, on daily call. For example, after one year of residency, if you intend to drive, you must obtain an Italian driver's license. It is nearly impossible to pass the test if you do not speak very fluent Italian, French or German. The test is extremely difficult, even for Italians.

Congratulations to you for putting yourselves first. I did the same 26 years ago. Could not afford Italy so I moved to Hungary. In the US I was strangled by stress and a 30 year mortgage. Here I have a beautiful downtown city home and a country house an hour away. NO STRESS, beauty and peace and ITALY is a mere trainride away. I've done Venezia several times and Roma on sleeper trains. Orban is as awesome a leader as is Trump and I hope Trump will give the USA its second breath of life. Life is not a dress rehearsal - you do what's best for you.

Young Italians moving out from Italy to find opportunities, old rich people want to retire in Italy increasing prices and speeding the process..20 years from now Italy will be a giant holiday park.

Welcome to Italy, staying here is not always awesome but Italy is Italy, i can still say it's the best place to live in the world after all, despite all the problems, issues and permanent crisis. As Italian anyway i can say South France too could be a great choice, lot of similarities between us and our french cousins.

I love Italians and Italy 🇮🇹 and have visited a few times. Unfortunately I was eaten alive by bugs at a Tuscan winery this September on a scorching hot day. A few years back in May staying in a Rome monastery was attacked by bugs in my sleep 😔

Do you suggest buying vs renting?? What's best
@smartmoveitaly3 ай бұрын
It depends on the person. Some people have visited a place a few times and are certain they want to buy in that location. Others prefer to live there a few months or at least a year to get a feel for it / rent in the meantime.
