When I was around the age Sheldon was here, if not younger, I choked on a piece of popcorn. I ended up with a choking fear too, especially when the next couple of times I tried eating solid foods I just kept choking (found out later when my parents took me to the hospital that my teeth were actually underdeveloped for my age which made it so I couldn't chew food properly). For the longest time I couldn't eat solid foods. I didn't eat blended food like in this ep, but I would only eat soft "foods" like Jello, pudding, yogurt, even baby food... What knocked me out of the fear wasn't even a solid dessert. I saw my dad eating a ham and cheese sandwich and really wanted one and that was that. lol (Luckily my teeth had properly developed by that point.)

Great reaction as always. Slowly rememberimg the episodes. Ah Meemaw being there for the fun stuff. Sheldon and comics and food fear, while later fear of birds covered in TBBT. Yep Tam there in moments that count.. The panic, in more situations. I forget how the kids are that young as so used to later seasons as it has been a while since seen S1. High school, what a place for dirty jokes.

2:29 Do not tell Sheldon what to do! You make a lot of great comments about what the parents should have done. I think you are right. This is a good episode. One of the earliest examples of Mee Maw helping Sheldon out with a problem where the parents couldn't help. It's also the beginning of Sheldon loving comic books, which we know he does when he's an adult. I find it weird that the Therapist looks and talks like Pastor Jeff.
