One of the coolest Laptops I've reviewed this year! I did make one mistake and said the laptop has 2 SSD slots. It only has 1. Also, if you missed it I unboxed the HP Victus which you can find here - kzbin.info/www/bejne/o5_IoGNmms-Wftk

I'm so happy that companies who actually care about the environment and their customers actually exist. If only Apple would lead with products like this, then their environmental ads would actually make sense... Amazing video! ^^

I just I'm impressed how an start-up with no experience and an fraction of the capital of any major laptop manufacturer creates an laptop with an motherboard with All replaced parts and even find space for an pretty decent battery, on an normal looking Ultrabook and others are putting batteries with less than 50 mAh on laptops with all solder parts on.

8:32 Quick correction, the cable you want to pull is the one on the motherboard, not the input cover. As far as questions for the full review. 1. Can you measure fan noise and thermal management under light to moderate loads? Stress tests are useful, but my needs are on the lighter end of the spectrum. 2. Can you try undervolting this laptop? I’d love to see if there is a significant different. 3. This is more opinion based, but do you think this is a good laptop to recommend to non tech friends and family? As the resident IT support, I’d love to have everyone using this laptop to make my life easier hardware wise. (Windows being another Story lol) 4. Idk if you usually do this, but I’d love to see a Linux test for this. The Linux community is falling in love with this laptop and I am excited to see the results. Thank you for your time, can’t wait for the review!

Laptops becoming more like desktops? About time! Good review of a great concept. Maybe we'll get lucky and it will become more popular among laptop manufacturers generally.

That's how they used to be... before the dark times.. before these companies realized that using glue was easier than screws... and more money would be made if people replaced instead of repaired...

One correction about the upgrade paths. While technically yes the cpu and gpu are upgradeable it should be noted that not individually. the CPU and the GPU are both soldered to the main board, because you can't get a socketed mobile processor any more. so technically yes you can upgrade the CPU and the GPU, but you'll do it by replacing the entire mainboard, now this is good because you don't have to replace the whole laptop, and the ram, storage, and wifi are all removable so you can keep those when you upgrade, but you will do a full system board swap to upgrade the cpu. That being said a full system board swap on the framework is stupid easy, you open it up like you showed then its like 5 screws and it just comes out, easy peasy.

Both USB C and A modules could have two ports... other than that, the laptop is amazing!
@Accordingtoallknownlaws3 жыл бұрын
they said they couldn't get it just right I think it was power output
@MarluART2 жыл бұрын
Mmmm you gotta consider the circuitry. There might be enough room for the 2 ports side by side but I don't know if there'd be enough for the internals.

The real question if you going to need USB type C for charging the device why not add a permanent port
@robertm82043 жыл бұрын
I agree! It takes away one Module port! You can plug the straight USB-C end of the power cord directly into the module dock's recessed terminal . . . with patience and the LapTop closed up and flipped over. Also, you can switch off battery charge power when running on AC power to avoid overcharging/overheating the battery -and- effectively decrease the heat and number of ~1,000 finite lifespan charge cycles. That's really great for night-owl or work-a-holic power users. BTW, The magnetic tipped screw driver is also double ended with a Phillips-0 size bit driver, held in place by the magnetic bits. I'm on the 2021 November batch5 delivery cycle and can't wait to have a DIY high performance Linux ONLY LapTop!

Maybe so that you can choose your preferred charging side depending on your hardware/setup? Pretty neat
@mynamesnotimportant69412 жыл бұрын
@@vernicemarapelaez1014 I think that's why, yeah. This way you get to choose which side you want your charging port on.

I have a crazy idea, what if the keyboard was also modular and we can change it with a touch screen keyboard
@mynamesnotimportant69412 жыл бұрын
I mean you technically could. The keyboard is replaceable, although to use a touch screen one you'd need to replace the entire top tray thingy, which is also something you could do
