Yes, exactly! I agree. Those people who eulogise Baghban, must also appreciate Taare Zameen Par. A neutrality should be maintained.

I guess the neutrality is there.... Both are good, one time watch, melodramatic films... I guess the neutrality should be there after watching such emotionally driven films.... people forget about reality and take lodge in the emotions they feel after watching such films.... i am not demeaning them by saying those films are melodramatic... this is fact

To which theme you support depends on your current domain. Suppose you are in first year of a college, you will say ragging should be banned who the hell is he to rag me. When you reach second year or third year, you will say raging has positive effects it will drove fear out from you. Suppose you are having only a two wheeler(no four wheeler) and you heard that some accident happened somewhere between a biker and a four wheeler. You will say driving four wheelers is not recommended, it increaesses load on the natural resources. Using so much petrol for a single person is insane. And if you are having only a four wheeler, you will say it could be bikers fault, they maneuver dangerously even when there is a small passage. Same is case with taare zameen par and baghban.

@@suklaghatakchaudhuri4272 but a viewer's reaction towards such movies is agreeably valid to feel extreme emotions of calling themselves a victim because that is how the movie has been made, the movie didn't talk about the parents-child relationship, it only spoke of the parent's pov. poor writing of the story on a topic so sensitive.

@gyanprakashgupt7699 When was he joking? He was overwhelmed by their efforts. It happens in real life too. People literally sacrifice their lives for such people. He was everything because they chose to sponsor his education and livelihood without any expectations (people here claim that they were teaching their kids because they wanted returns on their investment) . My forefathers helped several families during the quit india movement and partition. More than half of those families still respect us in the way Alok did and the others also respect us but not like Alok.

A PG 13 hindi family drama movie which kids can’t watch in front of their parents
@Lavenderletters2 күн бұрын
We need a new 'Baghban' in today's day and age with a more nuanced approach. The kids perspective can be laid in a better way and not demonise either side. Just something which reflects the differences in perspectives, upbringing and conditioning of both generations which has led to the said different opinions and outlook on life!

Facts: 1. They didn’t had zero savings. They equally distributed all their savings to their children before retirement. 2. They didn’t want their children to give up on their dreams, but to accommodate both of them together and give some time from their busy schedules.

The movie Taare Zameen Par dealt with the topic of Parent Child sensitivity with much more sense and empathy and emotions and made parent’s concern genuine without vilifying them. Baghban just straight up villainised children as some heartless people. They literally didn’t take into account that having kids or adopting kids is the parent’s decision, because kids didn’t ask to be born and because kids are only an extension of the family who will go on to create their own families and this is something the movie failed to show. Do i think that old people are very mistreated by their children in real life? Yes. Do i also think children are mistreated by parents? Yes. Do i think this movie could’ve tried to approach this topic with much more sensitivity and empathy and compassion so that the intended message could’ve been spread with much more positivity the way that it was intended just like Taare Zameen Par? Yes. Why do i ask the last question? Because in Taare Zameen Par, the parents realises their mistakes and start to improve and they try to become the parents Ishaan Awasthi deserved. But in Baghban, they absolutely destroy any opportunity to redeem the children as if children are completely heartless and that their reasons are not at all genuine and have no scope for even a little bit justification for how they behave but in Taare Zameen Par, the parent’s actions are somewhat justified. If you want proof, my own parents love Taare Zameen Par but never really liked Baghban.

Parents, Siblings and Kids - Everyone carries on in their lives, only your spouse will stand in thick and thin. Be good to them. It's all about expectations. Expect less from everyone and prioritize yourself. Baghban is self-victimizing. Plus who separates their parents this way? Its just pure delusion !

What is "woke" about wanting to have basic desires and not be a investment plan for your parents? Just coz you think of yourself as one doesn't mean everyone has to. P.S: India isn't even remotely a progressive society so stop hating on "wokeness" India needs it.

Social standards are so subtle, and a lot of old movies villianize and exaggerate the personalities of those who do deviate from traditional expectations
@SuyashChopra-r3g19 сағат бұрын
I think a better balance could've been attained, on both sides. The parents should've taken into consideration that their sons have their own lives, family, job, and children and they can't 'parent' them in their old age as a return for the investment in their childhood and education. While the sons and their wives could've been more generous and shown some gratitude to their parents instead of treating them cruelly, though their concerns were sometimes genuine. Same goes with Alok; what was wrong with him. He straight up worshipped his adoptive parents. That is such a regressive attitude. All in all, the movie dealt in binaries and extremes which is not how you deal with life. There should be a balance in relationships or else a Bagbhan happens.
@tcr8411Күн бұрын
If you look closely Baghban is largely based on the Bengali film Sesh Parba (1972) starring Pahari Sanyal and Chhaya Devi. and in my opinion a much better and subtler film. The Bollywood adaptation destroyed that subtlety.

Using typewriter at 12 am night while being alone at home whole day isn't sense ful but either intentional to disturb or foolish/mad or lacking understanding after doing 9-5 job for 2-3 decades in bank. 12am is time to sleep.
