!Spoiler! I agree with you about the Luo Binghe and Shen Qingqiu's body. I don't think he'd do something to defile or harm the body of the person he loves dearly. I believe he just wanted to use his spiritual energy to preserve it. Since it was a corpse, it needed to constantly be attended to. Binghe needed to be there almost everyday around the clock to pass spiritual energy. Such a thing can be exhausting, especially at the fact that if he didn’t, it would rot, so he'd fall asleep next to it to continue to transfer.

i literally just reread this last night and sqq clears up that binghe didn't do anything to his corpse. that binghe was just providing spiritual energy to his corpse so it doesn't decay. i think its an extra, sqq saw lbh's memories where lbh undresses his corpse and sees parts of his body already decaying. lbh hugs it and the decay disappears, he only hugs it. sqq saw it himself lmao

I agree LBH was just trying everything to keep the “shell” of SQQ alive? Fresh? and possibly getting comfort from holding him but nothing in a sxy way The humour of SVSSS is everything and I think it balances the more terrible, torturous moments in the story Beautifully

Yes it's canon that Binghe treated SQQ's body with 100% RESPECT, he just hugged it to transfer his spiritual energy in order the to preserve the body. Please read the side story Deep Dream Record before misunderstanding Binghe's motivation T.T My poor boy had suffered enough (btw, this one is my fav side story. It's sooo romantic and depicts their love for each other so well)

Excuse me, it's still MXTX novel. There are many heartbreaking moments. It's just that because of SQQ goofy narration it's seems less tragic. But when you sit back to think about it you are like 'o my god'

My thoughts on LBH Sleeping with the body are that LBH is guarding SQQs body at night; because it is cannon that people are ACTIVLEY trying to steal it back almost every day and for someone less straight-forward than LQG, nighttime would be the best time to sneak in and recover the body while it is unattended ( which is what happens as soon as it is retreaved by the sect). I'll also add that LBG has a long history of everthing important to him being taken away (like his mothers pandant) and he was obviously terrified of this happening tho SQQ's body, because once it wasn't being maintained it would begin to rot and he would lose his chance to resurrect SQQ. (also his MASSIVE Abandonment issues lol) I love this book series, It's my favorite of the MXTX novels. Just such a fun time and always makes me laugh. I'm glad you liked it too I've been listening to your Heavens Officails Blessing reading (even though I own the books) Thankyou for all your had work!

I'm so happy you made this review, I really liked what you had to say and I agree with most things. I really liked the fact that Binghe's "demonic" side was never romanticized, it was never shown as anything good, yes it was part of him but it wasn't like Shen Yuan was ever like "oh he's choking me that's so sexy" and I definitely appreciated that. I think it's so interesting and refreshing to read a love story in the eyes of someone who doesn't know he's in love like Shen Yuan because he kind of does look at everything Binghe does through rose colored glasses, or that's how I read it like he has such a soft stop for Binghe through the entire series but since he doesn't know he's in love he kind of doesn't romanticize everything, he contradicts himself a lot in that aspect and I think that's so cool and it made me relate to him, I understood Shen Qingqiu's actions mostly because of this. In the end I thought their relationship was so soft, they were so PDA oriented by the end I couldn't help but coo at their little caresses and gestures, it was adorable.

Out of all three novels Scum Villain is my favorite. It was the first of them I read and will always have a special spot in my heart. After all, I'm now in Scum Villain hell since three years and can't (nor do I want to!) get out! 😂🥰 Thank you for your review! ❤️

I really liked your video and the way you talked about the book ❤ however I don't think I'd say it's that light-hearted, but one never realizes the first time, Shen Yuan is such an unreliable narrator that moments of gore, horror or sadness sometimes just get over with a joke or with him disassociating from the events.😢

I absolutely agree with you about the non con/dub con part! I love how it wasn't romanticised like it would've been nowadays and how it was treated as a bit of a sore subject for Shen Quingqiu and Luo Binghe. Even then I wasn't initially sold on their relationship because of the power dynamic as well though. Shen Quingqiu was Luo Binghe's teacher and had also raised him, which made me worried that it would have some affect on their relationship. However, as the story progressed, you could clearly see that they were on the same page on just about everything. Luo Binghe still calls Shen Quingqiu "Shizun" because he has his utmost respect and loyalty. Even if he doesn't need to anymore. (I also loved how their second time wasn't perfect either, and it felt so natural to me. They were exploring each other for the first time. Luo Binghe was determined to make sure that Shen Quingqiu enjoyed it this time)

1.With the dub-con I fully agree. The one who didnt consent was Binghe. I honestly didn't mind it much because I read a lot of really dark stuff like that. 2. And Yue Qingyuan's story also hurt a lot :') 3. Tianlang-Jun and Su Xiyan's backstory OBLITERATED me. I never felt such a connection to a couple of characters like them, and Zhuzhi Lang was the sweetest ever🖤 4. Binghe really is like a puppy. And the questions extra was so fucking cute. 5. I really did think Binghe did weird things with the body, but also ive heard people say Binghe does so i think thats what ruined it for me 😮‍💨

About 5: binghe did NOTHING with the body, People who don't read well say the wrong things and make other people confused. This is just one more misunderstanding about binghe, and it's very clear that he did nothing, plus we have a confirmation about that in the extras

In the extra "Regret of chunsan and song of Bingqiu", LBH is surprised that people think so, he explicitly says that he didn't. in "deep dream", we see he is just huging the corpse like SQQ did for him. he won't defile this body.

Looking back, I find it funny… once I read ‘MDZS’ I found I needed time to fully process the experience. After completing the novel, i watched the donghua and read the manhua simultaneously- I couldn’t get enough. THEN the live-action drama ‘Untamed’ was released and I thought my heart would burst. These two main leads - the casting was perfection; they further cemented this story in my soul. I was aware of the other two novels, and even assumed they would both be great; I just couldn’t read them, or move on from ‘MDZS’. That is until I heard a KZbinr, Kictor talking about ‘Heaven’s Official Blessing’ and how much she loved the story. I searched a bit and found your audio recording of the story and am in love with ‘Heaven’s Official Blessing’ Now listening to your review of ‘SVSS’ I will now look to read that novel also. Thank you ☺️ PS-I recently watched ‘Word of Honor’ and if you haven’t seen it, you must. The book title is ‘Faraway Wanderers’, By Priest. ☺️

Is the non-con that scene on the cave? It's really not supposed to be romanticized and sexualized, SQQ did that to help LBH if I remember it right and the novel did clarify that directly and indirectly. Well, I'll read that part again to be sure. And LBH respect his Shizun very much. he wouldn't defile his body while trying to find way to bring him back to life. 🤧

@@CrimsonRainAudiobook There is a non con scene in the final book in the regret chapter when they are reading about their own characters in these situations. Also their first sex scene feels a bit non con too. And then the majority of the other scenes like that although are not non con just seem one sided on Binghe side because Shen just seems to be forcing himself to go along with Binghes wishes. In my opinion not the most romantic couple.

Yep. But if you think about it, it's actually non con for lbh since he was under the influence of Xin mo. He was not aware of what he was doing. He also regretted it so much that he asked sqq to unalive him🥺. Poor baby. So many people misunderstand him😢

I know they are not written romantically but I think it's written intentionally like that after all this is supposed to be comical

omg a fellow Zhuzhi Lang appreciator ☺🐍 sweet baby deserved better! great review btw, i feel the same towards many of the points you mentioned. i couldn't stomach the adult scene (and it caught me quite off-guard too) so i kinda skimmed through it but i don't hate it because of how it was handled later and how they both had time to heal and work things out afterwards. i've binge-read a fan translation that was available at that time and i kept pestering my friends with out of context moments because it was genuinely so funny. amazing novel, 11/10.

I just finished reading this and am reading the last few extras right now while I wait for the next vol of TGCF and I adored it. It was so much fun, I laughed so many times and honestly would love to see something silly like this from MXTX again even though I know many people are reluctant to pick up svsss, she has a great sense of humor and is refreshing to read against all the dark stuff in her other novels. I watched your review before I started reading and then came back just now to finish to see what you thought about the rest and totally agree with you on just about everything. !!spoilers!! I don't think anyone has mentioned this about the corpse yet so I thought I would; Upon returning to SQQ's original body SY says he can no longer feel the poison that plagued him previously and chalked it up to LBH having repaired all his meridians etc etc,, however we know the only way to cure said poison was to sleep with LBH.... which implies LBH did something to it while he had it for 5 years. SY doesn't think too hard about it so it isn't explicitly stated and it can be left up to the readers interpretation.

It would be so awesome if she wrote another novel like SVSSS. I hope she does one day 🤞🏼. Her other novels are of course iconic and I love them, but they’re just not on the same level of humour as Scum Villain. !SPOILER! I never put two and two together on sleeping with LBH being the cure for the poison but you’re right! SQQ did say that in the original PIDW, it was the only cure 🤯.

something i learned from comparing todays kids' shows and kids' shows from the 2000s is how a problematic topic is handles is more important than its existence in the show. back then, when characters are facing things like sexism, racism, etc, those victim characters are able to oppose it in some way. Starfire handling that racist silver guy is one example. The noncon scene kind of reminded me of my childhood shows. they dealt with something traumatic that was more or less out of anyone's control. the whole situation was treated delicately, quinqui and binghe did they're upmost best to heal and to help the other heal from it. even their marriage was treated delicately and with respect, despite most marriages in media being this huge fanatical over the top party with very little writing about the couple themselves. reading the noncon was hard, and not for the faint of heart, but i don't think it should be considered controversial or problematic. definitely not in a novel series that includes mature themes like genocide, assassination, conspiracies, child abuse, SA/CP, possible necrophilia, etc. The fandoms discourse over its existence honestly reminds me of my coworker who thought a gay character in game of thrones was inappropriate. It's plain ridiculous.

渣反虽搞笑却是墨香3部曲里面最虐的。师尊身死5年，冰妹不知道有多绝望!冰秋的爱根本不在一个频道上，他们爱得不平等爱得两败俱伤遍体鳞伤，最后两人也只是勉勉强强算是圆满。墨香本人也只承认漠北君和尚清华这一对才是真爱。不过不妨碍我喜爱这个作品，就各方面来说都控制得很好。

I personally disagree about the love story. I do get the feeling that Shen QingQiu cares about Lou Binghe but it's never felt like a romantic love for me. It feels much more of a fatherly/mentorly care to me. Shen QingQiu wants him to be safe and happy but he's not romantically interested in him, he just doesn't have much choice in the nature of their relationship by the end since rejecting him could lead to another world-ending spiral and he genuinely wants Binghe to be happy even if it's at the expense of some of his own autonomy. Every time something romantic or sexual happens it always felt to me, even into the extras, like Shen QingQiu didn't want to do it, he was just doing it to keep Lou Binghe happy. To be fair I haven't read all of the extras (I have read most of them, however) so maybe I'm missing something in them that would convince me, but that's my two cents.

I get where you’re coming from because I felt the same way for most of the novel. It wasn’t right until the very end that I saw it a little differently. The two extras that really convinced me were the deep dream extra and the interview extra. But like with most things in MXTX’s novels, it’s open to interpretation. I think you could find strong evidence in the novel to support either viewpoint.

I disagree. He really loved him imo but didn't really say it out loud. He just expressed it in his own ways. Like he literally read pidw only for lbh. He was attracted to him from the start but too dense to realize it. And the extras confirmed his feelings. I personally feel like sqq is an unreliable narrator so we can see how he feels from other people's pov (like after he pushed lbh down the abyss) . But it's your opinion so..

In my opinion most of the characters are written in a way that makes them not as lovable as you mentioned. Most of the characters are written plain and are viewed to seem a pacific way although if you go into depth they aren’t really like that, the way it’s written also makes it seem as if Binghe is a attention seeker and shen yuan is just playing along with a few nice interactions that make him seem a little more into it, but overall for me he just seems so fake. He’s always acting and he shows little to none of his true feelings for the whole novel he is just trying not to die and is continually hiding behind others yes overall it’s a funny story and has some interesting things here and there, but most of the cast are ether dumb or written plainly some are written really well and Nicky though. This is my opinion so please don’t bash me with hate. >~
