during the global challenge i used a choice band ting lu with helping hand gyarados and assault vest ceruledge, and those three did pretty well! it was experimental but offensive ting lu definitely does work

Ting lu bulk is insane. I did some quick calcs and from the special side, max HP/spdef AV ting Lu always lives modest specs kyogre water spout in rain in doubles format, barring Tera water.

Flutter Mane is everywhere but I don't mind because it seems there are about 10 different sets being used so you never know what you're up against when you see it in team preview. Amoongus on the other hand is everywhere too and I literally hate it lol

I think Dondozo might drop off in usage even more. Also I agree with Scizor being quite viable given how many teams run Flutter Mane. I love my Swords Dance Pounce set and with Fire Tera + Clear Amulet it's even better

I remember thinking of Fissure and was like “I’m gonna put Tera Flying on my Scizor,” and then gave it aerial ace because I didn’t know what other flying move. But yeah, Tera flying might appear more depending on how prevalent Ting-Lu stays, especially with Fissure (I admittedly have fissure on mine currently, but like…99% of the times I’ve used it was more for Stomping Tantrum? But I think I tend to end up using non-boosted Tamtrum or Heavy Slam more frequently)

I feel like for how common flutter mane is, it doesn't get a lot of hate. It's like in incineroar usage percentage, but way less than incineroar-level hate. Flutter Mane is definitely good, but not as annoying as the cat...

Flutter Mane is kind of the glue of the format right now. You need something good to counter the ruins, it's super fast, and it's got surprisingly good special bulk. Choice Specs imo is also very easy to use and can just nuke stuff with Tera Fairy Moonblast

A balanced team is a team that is as offensive as it is defensive. Some teams will be more offensive and some will be more defensive, and balanced teams will be in the middle. Balanced teams are not necessarily better than offensive teams or defensive teams, just different.

im glad people are finally starting to accept that ting lu has an unacceptable combination of power and luck-reliant strategy that causes it to be uncompetitive. the combination of fissure and stomping tantrum is already strong, and when you add STAB for stomping tantrum, incredible hp and def, an ability that effectively raises your spd, and a super fang clone for even more consistency, it just becomes too much to handle, especially in a format with so few good flying types. fissure on dondozo gave us a taste of what was to come, but luckily, it was fairly ineffective against everything short of dondozo mirror matches. ting lu takes that and cranks it up to 45. i sincerely hope ohko moves get banned from vgc as a result of ting lus creation; they were fun to throw on mons like alolan ninetales as a joke, but this has pretty much proven that ohko moves being meta is incredibly unhealthy for the meta and unfun for the players.

They should just not give high stats/bulky mons OHKO moves. Does it have base stats above 500 or does have more than 1 defensive stat/ hp stat above 100? If yes it shouldn't get an ohko move imo. Fissure and other ohko is a neat gimmick on dugtrio, alolan ninetails or a meme bulky stunfisk set in my opinion, but I have to agree, Ting lu is very annoying and not fun to play against.

I don’t think OHKO moves are unfair, because they usually work against the user, but I wouldn’t mind them being banned just because they’re a bad mechanic imo. Pokémon is already random enough that we don’t need the games to be determined by coin flips. It just isn’t fun for anyone. Especially in best-of-one on the ladder

Glimmora is invalidated by misty terrain, Wo-Chien doesn't want to face Iron Moth or Armarouge as both have psychic and fire coverage and both benefit from tera grass to block leech seed, Garganacl gets shut down by covert cloak. Plus a swords dance physical attacker or nasty Plot special attacker is usually enough to wall break, just run tera fire to prevent burns with clear amulet to prevent intimidate. And feint is always an unexpected tech that can be used to get around protect. A lot of the tools needed to deal with stall are already here outside of OHKOs.
