Look end of the day, on this topic Iran has been very measured. Sunni or Shia, I will always be happy to see any gov standing up for our Palestinians, Lebanon & Syria.

You're completely right. They've done awful things, but they've also stood up to Israel where other Muslim governments have completely abandoned their obligations to the ummah--it's like the hadiths of "so and so will enter Jannah despite certain very big sins, or very minimal good deeds overall, because of one specific thing that they did right." We cannot rightfully condemn Iran while they're the only country seriously challenging Israel, and even then it's forbidden to ally with non-Muslims (i.e. Western govs) against them.

27:01 It's truly sad that we are still dividing ourselves as Muslims along sectarian lines. We truly need to follow the example of the Sahaba and make amends, so that our enemies don't take advantage of our differences. When Imam Mahdi comes is he going to be a Sunni or a Shia? He's going to be a Muslim... and that's the only way to see ourselves. We've been divided into camps ever since Uthman (RA) was murdered. It's time to come together.
