If you're in a spot where you are really close to ending everything, don't look for the least vulnerable and awkward way out, put some effort into it. It's okay if loved ones know. They may be overbearing and treat you like you are younger than you are, but that's because they want to help, and they don't want to damage you more than you already have. There's a way out always, you just need to put some effort into it. I've been there and I'm honestly surprised how strong I actually am, being able to no longer linger on wanting to end myself. If you put enough effort into it, you will get out, and you'll also likely be surprised how much strength you have.

But I revealed I was suicidal after 5 years of feeling so, & the next day I woke up 1 minute past a time scheduled for a phone call & got berated by my grandma & mother, I was gonna kms again, & then I had a 50/50 duo of policemen, 1 was an asshat trynna put me in the hospital & the other was an angel that just set everyone straight & comforted me for the first time in so long. So like if anyone has family that has been neglectful & negative towards you, even in a slight unsure amount, seek someone else like a counseler or someone trustworthy in your local to help.

I personally didn’t know you kept your DM’s open, but I completely understand why you’re doing this. I’d imagine it’s extremely stressful to try to respond to all that, especially with trying to talk people out of suicide. I personally have talked a couple people out of it, so I know it’s not easy, it’s stressful, anxiety inducing, and all the bad feelings, so to have to do that for complete strangers, I can’t even begin to fathom that. Thank you for making this content, and please know that everyone will understand, like you said you’re a normal guy, and no guy should have have to deal with all that. I hope you’ll get to deal with a lot less stress from now on, and that you’ll get to build better relationships with the people you actually know.

As a decently small creator who also keeps their dms open, This makes me really sad and I totally understand why he came out to address this. Sometimes I get put in weird situations where people wanna be in videos that I have never talked to and I just have to turn them down. Jonny is a much bigger creator than I am so it’s probably like 10000x as bad as mine. It’s really sad to see how this affects people without most understanding what they are actually doing. I think everyone can understand your decision, thanks for speaking out about it.

I completely understand where you're coming from. I've had social media friends that I've legitimately had to talk out of suicide, it is stressful and terrifying trying to reach out and reason with someone you barely know who has a situation you can't understand. Being an internet personality is always gonna have a ton of social pressure, and while I respect trying to keep contact through your DMs I fully understand and agree that doing so is just bad for anyone's mental health in the long run. I also understand how hard it is to maintain even our IRL relationships. I barely have time to keep up with most of my family and many of my friends only get to meet up once or twice a year. At the end of the day, I don't truly know you and you know even less about me. I enjoy your content and your personality and that's all their is too it.

Bro, I feel that. Those situations are just stressful as all hell, regardless if you're a stranger or not. I've had to talk my ex out of suicide on a daily basis, same for some previous friends of mine. I wasn't prepared for that, thank god I was able to talk them out of it. Someone putting their life in someone else's hand, especially a stranger who is not prepared for these situations, it's not something you or anyone should have to deal with. What you're doing is good, you have become so popular that there are those that idolize you, and keeping your dm's open brings in the worse of the fanbase.

I'm a moderator in some discord server, and I've had a person tell me personally about their suicidal intents, putting me under the pressure of talking them off. it was a 3 hour conversation of me trying to get him better and to find a therapist. it's incredibly mentally taxxing. I didn't touch discord for at least 2 days after that. it's horrible what it feels like to handle once with one person, and I can't imagine how difficult it may be to do with several people. godspeed.

Having someone’s life in your hands is one of the most stressful things in the world. And when that does happen you will panic, and you’ll try everything to make them stay. No person should go through the stress of having another persons life in their hands and no person should ever need to put their lives in someone’s hands. But this world is cruel, and that’s why therapy exists. I completely understand your decision Johnny and I understand the stress that you may have felt. I’ve had some of my closest friends lives in my hands and I tried my best and it worked. Except for one. But yes, it is totally understandable to close your dm’s for that reason.
