Obviously you have never had a kitten, those kids were gentle and affectionate with the kitten, I’ve raised dozens, from a little girl to fostering kittens as an adult, to having cats my whole life. Kittens love the pets, cuddles, playing gently with their paws. It makes them more playful and affectionate to people and other animals. If the kitten did not like it, it has ways to let them know.
