I love how you said “if they need the eggs and the flowers that bad, then let them have them” I love your attitude on that. We are getting ready to set up our own roadside farm stall and we are going to put a camera on ours but also make allowances for some losses in that regard. We are also going to do a free table / section for people who need something! I am going to start with free plants that we propagate from our property

I love it! We have a farm stand as well and we had the same issues with deliveries being left inside the stand. Though, we haven't had an issue with deliveries there since I put up a sign asking them to bring packages up to our home. - Renee

If I opened a stand here in southeastern Kentucky, they would haul off everything, including the stand if they could! I’m not kidding. I put a rooster in a cage by the road with a sign, “free rooster, please leave the cage”. Haha, of course I never saw that cage again.

I love it! I think you’ll be surprised how honest people will be. And like you said if they really feel the need to take it then shame on them! I remember as a kid when I visited my grandparents in Lake Wales FL . We would go to a fruit stand and buy their honey and fruit baskets on the honor system. Great memories. We actually discontinued selling eggs due to the States new requirements for egg storage. Has to be refrigerated now

Since I dont live in a hot climate, I am curious. At what point during your hot season, will the flowers cook/wilt/droop from being inside your black flower stand? Up here in the Northeast, it is a struggle during July and August to have a roadside stand that isnt in the shade.

It’s actually in the shade so I’ll be good with them sitting in water until August rolls around. Then it will be morning only😉
