Whilst there are People out there are against paying so high price just to experience a meal on board a grounded plane, but I am very thankful that People like you actually paid to feel the experience. It's not just about the $$$$. I am more towards a positive thinking that it's the support you gave to our own Singapore Airlines. No, it's so expensive because of the number of krisflyer miles given. The $600+ meal can basically get you 2 return tickets to Taiwan with SIA or 1 return ticket to Australia. So I can say that meal is definitely worth less than $100 but the krisflyer miles given are more than $600.

I think everyone who went on the A380 restaurant really liked the rich , tasty Satay on board. Sitting in the Business class section cost 6 times the price of economy. You guys should have chosen economy class. Food and service would have been as good. Except you will be experiencing economy class ambience, economy seats and economy headphones and longer toilet queue i guess

It’s better to dine here because you eat $600 in a restaurant, you wasted $600. But eat $600 with SIA, you get around 73000 air miles (last I checked). So I’ll say eating in SIA will yield better results.

@@yithenntan7875 basically what they didn’t disclose to you is the air miles given to them when they book through their Krisflyer account. The cost of $600 comes with 73,000 air miles points. Using that points, you can use it to upgrade your seats or use it to purchase tickets to fly around the world. You understand now? So to dine in restaurant in this instance for $600 is not worth it, because you won’t get 73,000 air miles. But eating an expensive $600 meal in an A380 is worth it because of the air miles you’ll earn.

Newer aircraft does not mean seats are better. SIA old A380 had wider seats and are arguably more comfortable. Unfortunately, most of it are upgraded to the newer seats
