That’s an awesome experience. You had posed the question whether or not you should after school focus on the band you’re in go right into teaching at a University. For what it’s worth I hope you focus on the band and music because that will open a ridiculous amount of opportunities to teach, perform etc.

Just remember Nathan, " All of your best efforts got you there". Welcome to the world of being a professional musician. I am 78 and still playing what I want to play. But I earned the money to play what I want to play by doing State Fairs, Shows, Las Vegas in the day when I made 7500 dollars in today´s dollars every week and saved it all ( 5 years) . And financed my jazz career. End of story! Good luck!

So basically, I'm a young sax player from New York, and I had my first gig about 3 months ago, and it was absolutely nerve wracking, because we were playing Born to Run, and I had to play the solo by Clarence Clemons, and I was wondering if you would be in southern New York anytime soon, within the next few months, 'cause I've been a fan of you for a while, and I love how you play, so I really want to meet you. Also, if you're down, I'm starting to play for a professional symphony near where I live, so if you want to play for the symphony, I'm sure that they'd love it.
