GAME 7 + ANALYSIS 23. RHP Strike --> swinging foul (mid-just high - just late/okay - missed a good one!) --> 2nd pitch DEEP fly out (39:43 expected result in that zone) 5/14 BB 24. RHP Strike --> swinging in-play --> 1st pitch fly out (40:07 - couldn’t come through in a clutch moment here, unfortunately) 5/15 BB 25. RHP Ball --> ball (just high-mid-out - great take) --> 2nd pitch single (40:56 - patience P1 immediately paid off with a pitch right down the middle in P2 - nice replay 41:00) 5/8 BB 26. RHP Ball --> ball (high-in - great take, pleeeease be selective in this MONSTER scenario!) --> 4th pitch strikeout (42:15 rough result...) 5/9 BB 27. LHP Strike --> swinging foul (43:04...dude, that was the pitch to drive, that could have been the homer!) --> 4th pitch strikeout (43:35 I really hope this isn’t your last swing in Arizona...damn, that was ugly...) 5/16 BB ***(37:46 YES, IN GAME 7 OF THE WORLD SERIES WE FINALLY SEE WOO! WOOOOOOO, HERE HE IS, THE SAVIOUR!!!) (42:33 duuuuude, play has gotta be to home there in that spot!) Wow...hate to say, but you gotta take quite a bit of this one...I’d consider that a gaffe in the infield...though you get 2 outs, you play infield in to cut that run off as the #1 priority...and those 2 uggggly strikeouts in 2 of the more clutch ABs of your career is a tough look. This is a team game, and they also didn’t do anything...but as we know, all playoff - as you go, the team goes, and vice versa. I think the only time that mould was broken was 9th inning game 5 against the Dodgers, where you made a late out and the team pulled out the W anyways. Especially after having (largely) an incredible series and playoff overall (hell, you hit like .400 this series and over the whole playoff), its unfortunate that those 2 late Ks will stick around for a while. You’ll certainly be motivated to get back to the dance next year, and follow through...wherever it is that you end up! This was such an intense series... I really couldn't have asked for it to be any closer. Losing in 7 did suck (much like a good chunk of my at-bats in the last 3 games), but I still think there will be a TON of interesting offers in the off-season. Thanks for putting up with the dead silent video and for the excellent stats and analysis!

RHP Ball --> swinging strike (can’t swing at that...way low-out) --> 4th pitch game-tying 2-run HR (7:55 mid-high-out - good/good - 107mph, 409ft) (that’s in your 2nd coldest area...on an absolute tear, at the best of times to do so!) 1/3 6. RHP Strike --> called strike (10:06 where’s the respect? 5-time MVPs should get that call every.single.time. High-out (ump says on the corner, I say not) --> 2nd pitch single (10:13 out-mid-high - good/good, 107mph - maybe another bomb if its in the air!) 2/3 7. RHP Strike --> swinging in-play --> 1st pitch foul pop out (12:00 - high-in corner, very late/weak - a rare case of a poor AB for you recently) 2/4 8. RHP Ball --> ball (well outside-high) --> 2nd pitch lazy fly out (ball low-in corner - very late/jammed - absolutely gotta take that one, bud) 2/4 ***Another big W for the white hot Dbacks to go up 2-0 in the series, headed to the Bronx with a short right field porch! Your ABs have been a mixed bag...the good has been exceptionally good, as you’ve had a homer in each game to open the series...there has also been lots of ugly, as you are expanding your zone a bit more than I like in the last couple ABs in this one. As you go, so does the team, so hopefully you and the team can keep up this torrid stretch in game 3!***

LHP Ball --> swinging strike (well high - late swing) --> 2nd pitch reach on E5 (3:51 mid-low-in - early/good) 0/1 3. RHP Strike --> called strike (in-low - great take, cold zone) --> 3rd pitch strikeout looking (4:45 out-mid-low, good pitch) 1/2 4. RHP Ball --> swinging foul (just out - low - early/weak) --> 5th pitch strikeout (just off low-out corner, 2 strikes - again, well pitched by this righty) 0/2 ***Big game 1 win over the Yankees in the World Series! As is tradition, you hit a homer in this one...your 6th in 10 playoff games so far...M-V-P!***

GAME 3 9. LHP Strike --> swinging foul (mid-high-out - late/weak) --> 2nd pitch fly out (ball outside - mid-high - good/okay, as expected w/ a pitch in that location...) 2/5 10. LHP Strike --> swinging foul (mid-just out - very early on changeup) --> 3rd pitch ground out (7:15 ball just inside - again, gotta take that pitch! Getting away from some of that selectivity that led to the great success...get back to it!) 2/6 11. LHP Strike --> swinging in-play --> 1st pitch single (17:52 in-mid-low - good/good, 101mph) 3/7 12. RHP Ball --> swinging strike (hated that swing - low-in, very late...nothing good about that swing decision) --> 3rd pitch fly out (18:50 outside - just late/good) 3/8 ***(**16:31** nice heads-up play in the field!) Unfortunate close loss in game 3, 5-4. Still up 2-1 in the series! For your part....I really didn’t like your ABs and pitch selection in this game, at all. AB9, made an out on a pitch outside the zone. AB10 - same. Good to see the hit on an early-count swing in AB11. You swung at 2 outside the zone and made an out on such a pitch in AB12. As the team is literally hot and cold with you, hopefully you get the ship righted immediately - need 2 more wins!***

RHP Ball --> ball (well inside) --> 4th pitch single (34:39 - fortunate result on a pitch in that location...won’t complain, gotta have it in this game!) 4/6 BB 23. RHP Strike --> called strike (low-mid-out) --> 4th pitch strikeout (36:49 2 strikes, had to expand) 4/7 BB 24. IBB (to put 2 on...surprise surprise, no runs scored!) ***(**35:15** what a great play by you in the field lol) 2 hits by you to help the team to a must-win game 6 victory...Game 7 of the World Series coming up! Let’s hope you can have one of those road Coors/Cincy games in your final one as a Diamondback!***

GAME 4 13. IBB (to load the bases...team didn’t score! What a missed opportunity) 13, RHP Strike --> swinging foul (low-mid-out - early/weak) --> 6th pitch BB (21:30 you be the judge...might have gotten lucky there! Those are the kind of calls MVPs should be getting!) 3/8 BB 14. RHP Ball --> swinging foul (just high - mid-in - very late swing) --> 4th pitch single (22:26 right down middle - perf/perf - unfortunate this wasn’t a homer, but a hit will have to do!) 4/9 BB 15. IBB (to load the bases, again...and AGAIN, nothing! 23:30 your heart just sinks when you see that the team not only didn’t score, but gave up the lead...oh well, you get one more shot this game!) 16. LHP Ball --> ball (just low-in, great take in this spot!) --> 5th pitch BB (good job...hopefully the team can do something behind you...) 2/4 BB ***(**23:00** more championship level defense!) Sucks to say, but the team really let you down in this one. You reached base in all 5 plate appearances, including on 2 IBBs to load the bases....yet the team wasn’t able to score anyone in either situation. The team paid dearly with a 1-run loss, seeing this now as a best-of-3 World Series...go get ‘em in game 5!***

LHP Strike --> swinging foul (mid-just high - just late - great pitch to hit 16:55) --> 3rd pitch strikeout (27:20 yuck) 4/11 BB 19. LHP Ball --> swinging foul (well high - mid-in - very late swing, to boot) --> 4th pitch strikeout (18:35 man...things were going so good, what is happening!?!? All 4 pitches outside zone, and you managed to strike out...) 4/12 BB 20. LHP Ball --> ball (well inside - good to see the take here) --> 5th pitch single (29:47 low-out corner, early/good - fortunate result here, but we won’t question it!) 3/5 BB ***Man, what a gut punch that New York trip was, eh? Your ABs were terrrrrible in this one. No time to wait to get things turned back around...down 3-2 in the series now, heading back home (home team has won each game this series, and the last 2 are with you guys, so there’s that!***
