@@jessieallen1894 at four you can sign him up for programs like Waterford Upstart which is a preschool program that prepares them to start Kindergarten and also gets them use to using a computer if you choose to go the route of online classes. 🤗

@@jessieallen1894 first research what the homeschool laws are in your state. Then there are so many options. There are religious, non religious, and secular curriculums out there. I started with watching you tube videos on my child’s grade level. Just search homeschool preschool and see curriculum reviews for it all. For preschool it doesn’t have to be anything formal. Just play, read, and practice counting, shapes, and colors. Let your child take the lead.

I homeschooled my daughter from grade 6-8 and now she’s in grade 9 and doing online at home! She found it frustrating at school not being able to move forward until the whole class of 35ish students learns the lesson when she got it the first time. She’s thriving and that’s all that matters to me. I could care less what people think…and they all have their opinions😂. Also I should mention that I worked full time and homeschooled…anything’s possible when it comes to your kids wellbeing and mental health!

As a Pre-K teacher, and being homeschooled from grade 5th - 12th, I can say homeschooling is amazing and I wish more people would do it! However, I would definitely look into a Co-Op, something weekly/every two weeks where they can go interact with a large group of kids in a controlled environment. It will help them still grow their immunity and learn crucial social skills that really only come from a “controlled environment” and will be very important in their teenage years! Good luck on this journey, but do not hesitate to try school again if you do not feel it is not working as expected!

Wow I’m so glad my kids school in SoCal are so on top of any sickness my younger one in 4th grade has only been sick once in 1st grade & my other 3 maybe a handful of times in 10 years but they don’t even allow kids w/a runny nose they are sent home I can’t believe a parent would send their kid sick 😮

I homeschooled my son from 7th grade to 9th grade. It was the greatest thing I ever did. He was being bullied terribly. He decided that he wanted to go back to school because he wanted to play sports. The bullies were still there but he was better with handling them because he was older. We heard all the negative things too but it turned out good.

My daughter homeschools. Her oldest two, age 16 and 14, finished high school in January. They both do online college classes and attend two days a week to a local college. They both also have jobs! You CAN do this.

I know that most of the times it is something kids learn at home how they treat people so BE KIND to your kids, TEACH them to be kind as well. Kids can be so mean sometimes and it sucks to know that’s something that can be different because they do what is done to them, what they see at home. So be kind, be loving, learn about gentle parenting and break the cycle. Kids need love and kindness and all the good things to be good people and good adults❤️

I know that I probably wouldn’t have done good with homeschool. I was a public school kid for most of elementary then I transferred to a private school which was a far better environment. There are normally small classrooms and better teachers meaning less issues(normally) I think when you decided, whenever you think your ready to put him back in school I’d look into private schools. Yes sometimes it’s expensive but they are able to do more one on one when there are eight to twelve kids in a classroom compared to 20 or 30.

I homeschool my 3 boys 6 3 and 2 first tip is patience find it and learn to embrace it ... Next is routines are good for my kids Ive learned its a real learning curve to keep the little boys busy when my oldest needs one on one attention make busy boxes for the littles only for school time and switch them out regular so they dont get bored the Good and Beautiful is such a great curriculum we love it my son is advanced he just took off with it just have fun and enjoy it there is tons of youtube videos out there

My girl is almost 2 and my husband and I have been seriously considering homeschooling her too. Our town library offers a homeschooling parent meet up once a month that we’re thinking of going to just to chat to others in the area about it all. Maybe your town has something similar!

I homeschooled my kids till my kids were in grade 8 and 6 I loved it and they thrived and since going to school they have crazy good grades. I loved it did it in Hawaii lota of schooling on the beach. You guys are amazing people and got this for sure the most important ingredient in raising kids is Love. I was always of the mindset I wanted to be with my kids we had a blast they are thriving independent teenagers now and truly amazing people.. we have an 8 year old aswell he goes to school and loves it so have done both. The curriculum I used was Abeka it is amazing. I actually have preschool through 8th grade if your interested

The way I see it regular school isn't for everyone, I'm LD learning disabled and the system was difficult for me. I went through the system. Someone might think differently, but I agree as long as a child has activities and a friend or friends then it's great.

Just here to say that, for personal reasons my two kids (now 9 and 10)were homeschooled for two years during the worst of the pandemic. They just went back and are doing just fine in every way. I would do it again in a minute and might very well pull them again depending on some of the laws coming up on the books where I live. Also I’ll add since they’ve been back we have never been so sick. Preschool wasn’t even this bad. We had covid the first week back.

I was homeschooled from the end of 6th grade and up and the reason for that was because of my epilepsy the teachers didn't want to accommodate my needs. I wish that I was in public school cause I became a shy person and I dropped out in 10th grade due to the tutor coming over and not explaining how to do my assignments it got overwhelming because I kept getting F's but years later I went to adult education and got my high school diploma and now in College to become a teacher.

I can say my only concern with home schooling is the extreme religious groups which your not part of. Times have changed.

I just want you to know I think you are making a good choice by homeschooling your kids specially with all the crap that the teachers are required to teach our kids nowadays I think it’s better for our kids to be homeschooled more so now than ever before there’s all kinds of programs out there that you can use to learn how to teach your kids at home I don’t know of any cause I do not have any school-age kids anymore but if my kids were school-age I would definitely definitely homeschool them so keep up the good work that you’re doing I will encourage you and I will keep you in my prayers in my thoughts while you are doing this

I think it’s great what you guys are doing taking him out of school I mean he’s literally the youngest age to start school right now so you have the ability to put them in school anytime if that’s what you guys choose later in life. School is going to be there literally forever. But they’re only young ones not to mention all of the violence that we are seeing on the news at schools it makes me just feel very unsafe to put my own child in school hoping that they are protected all day and that they’re safe while learning.
