Nick Mataya is more concerned with giving us good scrambles than winning the match. He's for the people like Jay Rod.

If only Nicky would try all the time. He was a young phenom and you can just tell it’s his attitude slowed him down. His team mates were buzzing just seeing him scrapping as they know he’s got world class potential if he could just apply himself 24/7
@bigguigomis7585Күн бұрын
lol bruh is training his butt off and you here talking about how he should “apply” himself. Dude slowed down due to injuries. Injuries are the enemy of an athlete, simple as that.
@messimaster21 сағат бұрын
@ injuries have certainly played a part. But he also refers to himself as “A lazy piece of shit” regularly. Craig & others have said the same about him. So yeah I think he could definitely apply himself more. But I don’t know him personally so maybe he does indeed give his absolute all in every roll & scrap

Damn bro, Andrew really broke Nicky. Hope he's gonna make a return and avenge that loss.

I think Andrew is just a terrible matchup for him with his movement, pace, & conditioning. Being at 100% sure would help his chances though, that's for sure.

Didn't Dima say Nicky needs a bunch of surgeries and rehab? Did he already do that and I just missed it? Want to see this guy compete at 100%.

Nicky needs to have that surgery. Avoiding fixing the ACL isn’t a real option.
@SKRATCH19883 күн бұрын
it definitely is but you have to take your physical therapy and strength training seriously. there's a study on placebo effects where they used knee surgeries and the participants knew they were going in for a surgery but they didn't know if they would be actually given the surgery or not... some just had the incision and we're not given the surgery... All of them did the same physical therapy to recover... group that didn't actually get the surgery actually recovered stronger then the ones that did. ... remember the name of the study but Dr. Rhonda Patrick brings it up on a podcast.

ACLs can heal without surgery. The way he's moving, I wouldn't be surprised if an MRI shows a reattached ligament.

This is a question by a non trained person who is a spectator and fan of BJJ and MMA . From watching BJJ evolve with the Gracie family , Machado , ect and then subsequent new generation phenoms like Marcelo Garcia and many others, to this new generation of BJJ practitioners like in this B team and the talent at the last CGI , would the old generation, Gracie’s from the 25 years ago , at their prime , be able to compete against theses new talents? For example, would Garcia in his prime be able to best Craig in his prime ? I would live to have seen these two roll ? Can you visit Garcia and roll with him Craig ? That would be awesome content to see.
@BlackBeltScrubКүн бұрын
All the new guys are standing on the shoulders of giants. The new guys benefit in better information: technique, training, and "nutrition". Craig is bigger and younger than Garcia. Craig would win easily. However, if we are talking pound-for-pound greatest, Marcelo Garcia is pretty much at the top. He's like the Steph Curry of jiu-jitsu IMO -- all time great who changed the game. Craig is/was a POTENTIAL hall of fame talent, but doesn't have hall of fame results.

Maaaaan shut up. He’s accomplished more than you ever have in your life. You shouldn’t be talking unless you’re competing at ADCC, CJI, etc. If you have, share your name. I’d love to watch your highlights.
