Love the new cabinets. I agree with other commenters that you should stain (I would use clear varnish) and keep the natural finish. They are really beautifully done. BTW Carl has found his Forever Home. He's definitely a keeper.

On the cabinet doors I would Poly-urethane them and use either a stain or a maybe 1-2 shades brown darker to cover the plywood around the doors.

When we redid our 1st rental home, we used tar paper over rolls of insulation. Was like a vapor barrier, was less itchy after paper was up.

If your going to side the rental house TyVek before siding will act as a vapor barrier or you could put foam board up over TyVek will also help with insulating factor.

The insulation you have there is mineral wool and is a very good insulation. Is made from rock and will not wick water up like fiberglass and mineral wool will not mold.

Years ago we had a HUGE air compressor in our 2 car garage with a mechanic’s pit (it was about as tall as me.) We had sooooo many tools! We got divorced years ago and I lost access to all those fabulous tools 😢 But I have a selfless husband now so I just stop at Wawa (down the street) or Bjs club (when I’m out) to put air in my tires. Or he goes and does it for me. I’m keepin him. Lol

Those cabinet doors are exactly what I want! They match the style I have on my island (that I built with cabinets from Habitat for Humanity’s Restore ) The door color is actually nice as is.
