To be fair, I believe the reason why they made the menu theme so quiet in Smash 64 is that they are going for a "calm before the storm" theme. Like as soon you pick one of the main selections, the announcer screams what it is as the iconic character select theme plays lol

As someone who loves Splatoon music, loves the Bomb Rush Blush remix, and will defend the Splattack remix, the Now or Never remix is ass. Also, Kirby remixes slap. Too bad the newest game in the series with a remix is fucking Squeak Squad. Seriously there’s so many fucking incredible Modern Kirby songs and NONE of them have a remix in Smash, which is complete bullshit imo.

Sakurai has gone on record saying he's biased towards Classic Kirby. Which not only explains why the only songs that get remixed are from the classic titles, but also explains why all 3 Kirby Assist Trophies are from the 90s, popular songs like Revenge of the Enemy, Hyness Unhooded, Moonlight Capital and Song of Supplication are nowhere to be seen at all, none of the modern games have a stage, and most aggravating of all, why the Kirby fighter count has been stagnant for years. Bandana Dee has been one of the most wanted 1st Party characters back in the Smash 4 days. And he's STILL not in. Magolor's also been getting more fanfare and he's not in either.
